Has anyone tried an electronic accupuncture pen for lower back pain?

I'm a chronic lower back pain sufferer and was considering accutherapy for pain relief (it's worked wonders in the past when I had frozen shoulder). I was wondering if anyone had tried one of the electronic accutherapy pen devices that can be found on Amazon etc? (they send a small current to a point on the skin, and also claim to help locate the correct points).

I was curious to know whether anyone had had any success with them, or whether they're a waste of money.

do you mean a tens machine (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation).  This is a machine that gives you an weak electrical pulse to the body.  They are useful in affected areas or nervous pain.  You may need a physion assessment to see the best course of action for your back pain though.

Actually I was thinking of an electronic acupuncture pen but maybe a TENS machine would be easier to use for back pain? I had an MRI scan years ago and my problem is a herniated disc.

It may be difficult playing around with needles as they have to be placed accurately and you may do more harm than good.

The electronic pens don't use needles - they just need to be held against the skin and they send electronic pulses. I imagine it would be difficult to self-administer in the caser of lower back pain however. Maybe a TENS machine would be easier to use? Has anyone had any experience of them for lower back pain related to disc problems?

How easy is it to locate the right spot on the body to apply it, and how long do you need to spend each time you apply it?

Press the pen on the area where the pain is I use it on my lower back near my hip joint 2 or 3 clicks it activates your body natural defences against pain I look at the feedback on Amazon and other sites before I got it also have a look at a SI belt for lower back support that works too
