Hi Amanda,
I also tested positive for both EBV and CMV back in March 2018. I also got Dengue Fever and toxic mold exposure soon after - quadruple whammy! I have tested IgM negative for EBV and CMV since May but still have neurological symptoms (headache, stiff neck and back, insomnia etc....). I am really hoping that I make a full recovery but some days I feel very discouraged as I was super fit and full of energy before Feb 1 when I became very sick. I would be lying to myself if I said that I haven't seen some improvements, but as so many people say on this forum, there are so many symptoms and they change over time.
I am interested to know how LDN will work for you....who prescribed it and what are your predominant symptoms?
I have seen so many specialists and have had multiple ER visits (thankfully I haven't checked myself in for many months now which should be a positive step!)....the most help I have received has come from a naturopath and acupuncturist. I took an 'organic acid' test which tests for 70 metabolic markers through a urine sample. I will be reviewing my results with my naturopath next week. The results suggest some possible neurotransmitter issues and slight yeast and bacterial infections. My immune system has been whacked by these viruses....hoping in time a get back to homeostasis. I've been on a serious detox for the mold for months now, immune boosting supplements and Chinese herbs. I am doing everything in my power! Anxiety is something that so many people deal with after getting EBV or other serious viral infections. Mine was through the roof for many months and there was no meditation I could have done to really help out....in time my anxiety has diminished somewhat but it hasn't completely gone away yet. I have been trying to rest as much as possible and unfortunately exercise has not really entered into the equation which has been quite depressing for someone like me who loves to work-out.....
Wishing you well with your recovery...keep us posted.
Take care,
Caroline

i too was a massive exercise freak and just stopped 2 months ago. it was my life i loved it ! now i can just about manage a short walk . i worked out for 5 months with this as wasnt sure what it was. once diagnosed i stopped .....and actually feel worse since stopping .

many athletes get this and have to also stop working out ....
i just want to feel better and once i get leveled out im going to be back working out as i love it .
im not sure if the adrenalin was overtaking the symptoms of the virus ? whether i did more harm than good ? i just know once i stopped i got soooo sick and now can barely just do a short walk. its all been horrible !

Hi Amanda,
Oh goodness so sorry to hear you've going through both of these horrendous viruses at once. I do hope and pray that you feel much better soon and remember please put your health first right now, take some time out from work / stressful activities and get plenty of rest. I haven't tried Naltrexone or anything but maybe there can be others on the site with experience who can advise.
When I had EBV, taking vitamins and herbs did help me a lot. A good strong multi-vitamin per day, higher doses of Vitamin C (1000mg-3000mg per day), a B complex vitamin per day (good for energy levels and nervous system) and immuen boosting herbs like siberian ginseng, oregano, echinacea. Also for 1-2 weeks trying 1/2 tea spoon full of baking soda dissolved in half a glass of water twice per day on empty stomach, but not for any longer than 2 weeks, the alkinity of baking soda they say good for fighting viruses.
Thinking about you Amanda and remember you will get through this hard time and get well again with a little time, I truly believe that thanks to God who got me through it too and I remember how awful it was to cope with the virus and how it made me feel. Hang in there Amanda, things WILL get better and you will get there. Just one day at a time and getting through each day is a massive achievement when feeling that way I know - don't put any pressure on yourself and just take things slowly.
