Has anyone tried Methadone for RLS?

My doctor would like to try me on Methadone and I have mixed feelings. I'm on a large dose of Ropinerole and it isn't helping me anymore. It's the only thing I haven't tried yet. RLS is ruining my life. It's now in my arms and legs and my quality of life sucks! Don't know what to do next.

    Hi, Sioux,

How are  you doing now?  Have you tried Methadone yet?  I'd like to know your experiences with this drug because my RLS is out of control  and my life has been in hell.  All the pharmaceutical drugs I have tried no longer worked therefore I would like to try Methadone now but I am very concerned about the side effects especially the constipation.  Would you please share with me your experiences with it if you have started.  Thanks.

No but I suspect it could be on its way. I can't use the dopamine agonists and the highest dose of Gabapentin and Tramadol, whilst helping, have not alleviated the symptoms. I think it is what Dr Mark Buchfuhrer calls refractory RLS. You have my sympathy!
