Has anyone tried Naftopidil?

Posted , 6 users are following.

This is from an older article dated 2012:

The alpha1D-selective blocker, naftopidil may possess superior property of preserving sexual function (especially for ejaculation), compared with the alpha1A-selective blocker, silodosin.[29]

Has anybody had any experiences with it or any other drugs that they like to treat BPH?

I did a look up on it and there are not many side effects. I wonder why you do not here much on it. I will be seeing my urologist on the 7th I will ask him about it.

    Thanks Johnny

Did some more digging. You can't get it in the US. I guess it is available only in China & Japan. That is were the trail is being done. Can't find it in the US

I used it for couple of years before I switched to tamsulosin. The main reason I switched was the cost and I don't have any side effects from tamsulosin anyway ( no retro from either one of them). As far as BPH, it was as good as tamsulosin for me.

I live in Japan, and this is why it was offered to me as first choice. After 2 years on it, company discontinued pills I was on and offered the same medication with 2x or 3x dosage ( don't remember exactly). At that point I asked to switch to tamsulosin. I also discovered that it was cheaper , and since I did not have any problems with side effects ( apart from low BP), I stayed on tamsulosin.

Hi Nick, did you find naftopidil had any side effects including any sexual side effects? Apparently tamsulosin has lots of side effects for some people. You say you tolerate it very well.
