has anyone tried self dilation to heal fissure?

i've had a chronic fissure for several years. i have gone long periods without any pain but it never seems to completely heal. i've had botox, fissurectomy, LIS, each twice!

the pain used to be a 10 when it first started and now it's about a 2 if the bm is not perfect.

i've read a lot of positive things about self dilation and am now considering it. has anyone else tried it and what were your results?

Without a Colorectal surgeon who knows how to properly perform it I wouldn't try it. I had it done a year ago by a CRS and that helped alot. But you have to continue the treatments. The Kenalog Protocol has helped me to the point I don't have much pain at all. Some nerve pain or a dull pain but not bad. Nothing like before. I can finally go out and do things again 😃
