Has anyone tried these colon cleansing teas?

I've come across skinny tea and Holland and Barrett do a colon cleanse has anyone found these good remedies I'm in so much pain with cramps and fluids and blood coming out of me like water on a very frequent basis that j can barely sleep cause it's let really all night.

Consultant put me on 20mg of steroids to help calm it all down she thinks I might now have IBS as well as proctitis and that's what might be causing the cramps there worse then contraction pains and I can barely move and got 2 small kids and a dog to look after and at the moment it's impossible to do the basics.

I'm now drinking volcic mineral water j didn't eat a thing yesterday due to such a bad flare up the thought of it made me feel sick so just stick to water all day even now I feel anxious to try and put something in my body.

I over did it in the food and wine front the other evening cause I was finally feeling better and have been quite stubborn to change my diet so after having spicy prawn and mozerella pasta geese cake and half a bottle o red wine resulted in me going to the toilet from 10.30pm till next day and vomitting it all up almost killed me airgo why I'm scared to eat.

My mum got me some IBS relief tablets and they must be helping cause only went 3 times during the night and haven't been this morning but the cramps are my biggest symptom if I went back to just having the other symptoms I could be capable of getting on with 90% of my responsibilities with the new symptom very strong stomach cramps past few weeks I feel a quarter of a human being.

I can't do anything and I need to crack in cause j live here on my own so it's down to me to care for everyone and walk dog etc.

Any advice on how to limit the cramps would be great cause I can't live like this the pain is unreal

Hi Samantha, really sorry to hear that you're having such a horrible time. I suffered really badly with cramps during a flare about 4 weeks ago, my advice would be to stop drinking any tap water unless boiled in teas etc. Every time I felt the cramps coming on I drank a normal peppermint tea which really helped.

Also, one camomile tea every night before bed. Camomile is a natural anti inflammatory and I found that it really helped. I have been symptom free for around 4 weeks now and feeling almost back to normal.

I eat a carb based diet really, white bread rather than brown. I am sure that all these slight changes are what have helped me the most.

Let us know how you get on x

You should eat something, I'm sure it'll be ok. Just hang in there, your flare cant last forever although I know sometimes it feels like it can. Give it a week and hopefully all the things that worked for me will help you too. X

Hi Samantha. sorry to hear you're having an awful time of it. like shancon, switching to white bread & elimating alot of fibre helped me too. oddly, many people with colitis/ibs etc cannot break down fibre properly which makes diarrea & stomach pain, bloating worse. are you on any daily meds for proctitis other than steroids? normally people with proctitis/colitis have to take daily prescription meds to maintain remission. have you been referred by gp for a colonoscopy? when i feel nauseus & dont want solid food, i often drink half a pint of semi skimmed or 1%fat milk as it is a nutritious food in liquid form & is a long lasting hydrater than water! it also has calming affect on my tummy for me often eliminating nausea. hope this helps.

    Hi Samantha

Did you try cutting down on bread, and any gluten products? It worked for me, but may take up to 3 weeks to see results. Also keep taking herbal tea, but no pasta or gluten.

     Hope it works for you
