Hi I have beeen on here before for my wife, but this is for me.

I am due to have an ablation next Monday but am uncertain if I should have it. I have no symptoms what so ever and only found out by chance that I have atrial flutter.

I am a fit 75 year old and have been on warfarin for the last 3 months to get by INR correct.

Regards Ken.

I live in Brighton and was pleased to hear you had a good experience at the Royal Sussex.  I am new to AF.  Have been under cardiologist since 2009.  I'm beginning to think I have had AF for longer.  But my first prolonged episode was two weeks ago.  Quite anxious.

    Hi Mark,

You don't say wheather you have Atrial Flutter or Atrial Fibulaltion,

Have you been offered a procedure and if not why not ?

Most important, do you have any other medical problems which can cause a problem with your af.

Most important is do you have any other medical problems which can effect the treatment given to you.

I hope you get better very soon.

    Best wishes Ken.

My cardiac history over the past four years has included a heart a ttack followed by surgery to correct a four vessel blockage.this was foloowed by atrial fibrillation which progressed to atrial flutter. i had an ablation sixteen months ago. Painless though this was followed by a deep vein thronmbosis secondary to the operator using an incorrect size catheter and my being on Warfarin. It has changrd my life. I go to one hour of cardio exercises for one hour foyur times a week without any problems. At age 85 ,i just came in from my daily one mile walk.I remain by my choice on Warfarin rather than a bolld thinner pill.Life style changes, diet and execise make a good difference in outcome. Good luck with your future.
