I have been on one .5 Ativan per day, for about 2 years now...and I am sure my anxious feelings are telling me it wants MORE..but I refuse... I want to get OFF of Ativan...I know its hard even with a low dose... Have any of you every used Inositol to assist you when getting off an anti-anxiety/depression drug. Would really appreciate hearing from you. Thanks!

I came off Lorazapam (same drug) when my .5 dose became 2.25. I did it myself, tapering off a little at a time. It took some time, but taking each step down for 2 or 3 weeks, worked very well. The thing is to come down gradually, staying at each step as long as is takes for your body to be comfortable there and then go down again.

I can only tell you what I would do, not what you should do. I would get a pill cutter at the drugstore, then cut each .5 pill in half, then each half in half again.(you don't have to do the whole bottle at once, just a few at a time.) You will have ,125mg pieces. or 1/8 mg. if I have my math right.  So, 4 pieces equal .5mg. Take only 3 pieces to start. After a couple of weeks, take 2 pieces, another 2 weeks take 1 piece. Then take 1 piece every other day for a week, then 1piece every 3 days for 9 days. Finally i piece 2 times a week for one week and you should be clear. This is really simple and should do the trick with very little, if any, effects. If you have questions you may get back to me here or hit the little envelope and do it privately. You will be fine. If you're not sure about this method, check with your druggist or doctor,

Starting from such a low dose, I will be surprised if you have any withdrawal symptoms at all, (except worry about coming of,f and you really don't need to do that to yourself, Betty. Be wellwink
