Has sertraline really helped with depression and anxiety?

Hi all, I've been having issues on and off with depression and anxiety for 2 years now. I finally decided to get the help I need but I want to know if anyone else has been prescribed with sertraline.. and if you feel as though it has helped you... This is only day 1 for me.

    hi i have been on sertraline for just over 4 weeks as just starting to feel brighter. hang in there ..let them start working

    iv been on steraline for two weeks now only side effects iv had are headaches but these are easing of now. yes i have started to feel better already. hope u do as well. keep well x

    Hi lola welcome to the site.  You have taken your first big step towards feeling better Everyone on this site is on Sertraline and without exception have or are having side effects  but this is only a blip and will pass  I have been on  them 8 weeks and like you have been feeling anxious and depressed for a while.  I feel I have really turned a corner now and although i still have side effects (albeit reduced) its better than the anxiety i was feeling about everything in my life. I am feeling a lot calmer and looking forward to things   so stick with it  dont put a time scale on it every one is different  but it will happen for you   good look and keep well
