i was 56 and i had a mess and wore depends for at least 3 weeks....i had blood for at least a week and then a mess in my underwear for 3 weeks...after the intense pain finally subsided after about 9 days, i had mild pain on BM s for a long time...like 6 weeks maybe? At least a month...thankfully, the brain forgets. It was disgusting and I took MANY baths...at first, like 3 or 4 a day....basically every time i had to use the bathroom.

thanks for the reply I'm hoping I dont have to wear these pads any longer. my concern now is that i have one looks like its swollen all of a sudden and other looks like skin tag is forming but I'm hoping it doesnt develop as abscess. going to try get the doctor to look at it.

That thing swollen is a skin tag and will continue to shrink gradually but will not entirely disappear .

Its been 17months i had my hemoroidectomy done now and i can say it was the best decision

thanks for reply I can deal with small skin tag but not another hemorrhoid or abscess. since your was dont over year ago doe you remember how long before the mucus leaking stopped for you sidb's was 3 weeks. I'm hoping mine stopped before this weekend is up I dont want to deal with this at work.

my stitching is hanging out and the nurse said not to pull on it and that they will trim it when i go in next week. as for blood, i see little blood here and there with bm but not much (or at least anything too alarming). nurse said this is normal for now. not sure how long its supposed to last but im 2 weeks in.
