Has this happened to you?

Hi all, can someone please help me to shed some light.

First of, I'd like to give some idea of the types of things thats happen to me on occasions:

- Anemia;

- Partial blindness in the corner of my right eye;

- Difficult to see bright colours such as reds and greens and especially on a whiteboard;

- White or black dots appear in my vision;

- Headaches.

I've recently began taking Iron Melts to help with my anemia (Iron, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12 & Vitamin C).

This is the only 'dietry' change I've made to myself, and since then, I've been feeling "icky."

It began today, when I was sitting at my desk at work, looking down at my lapton screen. I noticed that my eyes weren't able to focus on the screen, I then noticed that my eyes werent turning right, they would only turn left. Finally, I noticed that my vision became partially blurred.

When the above cleared up, I began feeling dizzy and (nausic <-- ?)

i'm still feeling a little icky, but my eyes have cleared up. can anyone please help me out, i want to understand whats just gone on.

i drink plenty of water everyday

i don't drink alcohol or do drugs

i do have an occasional cigarette (socialising)

i don't eat in excess, i only eat if i'm hungry - i like to balance my diet between healthy and one fatty food a week

i'm slack on the exercise, too busy

i work in an office on laptops (9-5)

that's basically an overview of my lifestyle.

do you have a story like mine? i'd like to hear about it, and maybe shed some light on whats just occured, thank you all in advance. i'm="" still="" feeling="" a="" little="" icky,="" but="" my="" eyes="" have="" cleared="" up.="" can="" anyone="" please="" help="" me="" out,="" i="" want="" to="" understand="" whats="" just="" gone="" on.="" i="" drink="" plenty="" of="" water="" everyday="" i="" don't="" drink="" alcohol="" or="" do="" drugs="" i="" do="" have="" an="" occasional="" cigarette="" (socialising)="" i="" don't="" eat="" in="" excess,="" i="" only="" eat="" if="" i'm="" hungry="" -="" i="" like="" to="" balance="" my="" diet="" between="" healthy="" and="" one="" fatty="" food="" a="" week="" i'm="" slack="" on="" the="" exercise,="" too="" busy="" i="" work="" in="" an="" office="" on="" laptops="" (9-5)="" that's="" basically="" an="" overview="" of="" my="" lifestyle.="" do="" you="" have="" a="" story="" like="" mine?="" i'd="" like="" to="" hear="" about="" it,="" and="" maybe="" shed="" some="" light="" on="" whats="" just="" occured,="" thank="" you="" all="" in="">

    Hi, hope you're feeling a bit less nauseous now. Apart from where you say you couldn't turn your eyes towards the right, what you experienced sounds a little like an occular migraine, which isn't actually a headache but a strange vision disturbance that lasts around 20 minutes.

    Try googling it and see if you recognise the symptoms. It's like a whirring zigzag pattern moving across your field of vision that then disappears out of the corner of your eye!!

      Wonderful, thank you for your response.

      I came right that afternoon.

      Sounds like what happened to me, the zig zags and swirls, I'll look into occular migraines, thank you once again smile

      Glad to be of service!! I've only ever had about four of them, the first around 7 years ago. Was very frightening, I was in a supermarket at the time. My sister also has them.

      I do suffer from normal migraines too, and have some aura before them, but this is totally different. Hope it was a one off for you :0)

      Unfortunately no it wasn't the one-off. I always feared it had more to do with my sight as both my parents wear glasses and some colours I find difficult to see. But I am pleased to have learned about ocular migraines.

      Fingers x'd your migraines aren't too bad, blessing from New Zealand smile

    I had symptoms of dizziness, loss of balance, numbness in feet and hands. Finally realised that it was a Vitamin B12 deficiency. I'm now taking an iron syrup with Vitamin b12 and folic acid. Also taking a vitamin supplement containing methylcobalamin 1500mcg. Feeling much better in 1 day. Also I reduced the antacids I was taking as this hinders absorption of Vitamin B12. Take a liquid antacid like gelusil if you head feels heavy sometimes. Also, Vitamin B12 deficiency causes contipation. So if you are constipated take a laxative.
