Has your anxiety ever caused issues swallowing?

24 year old male with no pre existing condition beyond joint hypermobility. Sometimes i notice when i go to swallow (liquid only typically) its like i suddenly cant, almost like the muscles for swallowing just dont engage and like i 'forget' how to swallow. now i always am able to within a matter of seconds but the more panicked or focused i am on it the longer or worse it seems. I know anxiety can cause a person to have just about any symptom we choose to hyper focus on but I have to ask if anyone else has had something similar.

yeah..offcourse..thats the most basic or common anxiety symptom for newbie sufferers..it will be fine..becoz all your muscles are tensing..so the throat muscles are expanded..no need to worry..youll be fine

This is a routine you need to change, to stop yourself thinking about it when you do it. Find something you like doing, reading ect. And sup a glass of water ( or vodka) while your minds on the book 😃

ugh during the peak of my anxiety, i had no issues swallowing and finishing meals but now that i've eliminated most symptoms, my biggest issue is swallowing and dry mouth
