Hashimoto's?

Hi has anyone been diagnosed with autoimmune thyroid disease (hashimotos) if so what were your symptoms and test results. At a loss with the Dr's as they don't listen to any symptoms.

I was diagnosed with Hashi's about 3 years ago. I was already hypothyroid and without having my antibodies tested or having a sonogram done yet. It was by chance that the doctor felt a nodule (.7 cm and not big enough to biopsy), tested and then was diagnosed. I don't know the severity, but when your antibodies should be less than 60 and you are at 10,000.. I think that is a big problem, lol. The only symptoms I had was being tired all of the time. I feel that my hair falls out more than it should, however I have thick hair, so it's not noticeable, but my vacuum would say otherwise. Fast forward to today and I have a biopsy schedule because the nodule grew. Again, the only symptoms is being tired all of the time. Drained is more like it.. not wanting to do anything. The best advise is to research every medical term, stats of your situation, the "why, how, when, where" kind of questions that are applicable. That's what I have been doing for 3 years. My ENT from 3 years ago actually said "we aren't smart enough to figure Hashimoto's out" I hope that helped. Good Luck!

Hi I saw an endocrinologist recently who now suspects I have lupus. Now a referral to dermatology too. I will develop thyroid problems but he doesn't know when. The tpo antibodies are just a marker apparently.

hey! I was diagnosed with hashimotos about a year ago. I hadn't gotten any symptoms I was just getting a routine test and it showed they were off. I wasn't able to get medications right away and had to wait until they were at a higher level. when the levels go more off I was mostly getting tired. I would have 5 large coffees a day and still would have periods of tiredness. what are the symptoms you're having? and what are they testing you for?

hi Emily. Previously i was very cold intolerant. Needing a hot water bottle even in summer. Now the complete opposite in winter where I need a fan. Aches and pains (mainly back pain.) chronic fatigue and feel so drained of energy everyday. overactive bladder (upto 40 times a day) flu like symptoms every week where i spend all day in bed. Cold extremeties (chronic raynuads ) changes in hair texture. Now very dry brittle and breaks easily. I'm just stuck now as I have conflicting opionions from specialists. My tpo antibodies were >1000 with a positive ana.
