Hate the mornings

hi all
Into my 10th week now of taking citrolpram the side effects have all but subsided now thank god. Still having problems on a morning though with anxiety the thought of getting out of bed to face another day is still quite daunting. As the day goes on I do find myself feeling better but it's not until late afternoon and since being on the med I've had a few good days thrown in along with the bad so I'm staying positive and hope my journey continues to get better, can anyone else relate to this

The doctor said to take in the morning I'm thinking maybe it's the tablet what's heightening my anxiety because it eases off after a couple of hours and even though I've been taking the med for only 10 wks I still think it's needs to be in my system a lot longer for it to take effect. That's my feeling anyway don't know if you or anyone else thinks the same.

It sounds like you are doing well and your positivity is shining through. This all helps.
I and many others can relate to this for sure, as Cita does cause hightened anxiety to be able to treat it and as I said I didn't (think or know) I had any!
Once you level out things do get better, but I found I had to go higher (not everybody does) and have now levelled out. It all takes time, but this will pass as you keep posting and discussing your and others experiences.
Good luck and Best Regards,
David

This is how it worked for me. Mornings were my worst, and during the day things got better and by the evening I felt yay! only to wake again feeling rubbish. This will get better and the mornings will eventually be good. It was when I started waking feeling good that I knew I'd for over the last hurdle.
Again it takes a while ..... but it will happen.

I think the dreaded morning was one the last things to go (sorry) ... for me anyway, but it wasn't bad all the time, it just got easier. I wonder if the mornings are bad because when you wake you realise you have another day to get through?? I'm not a morning person anyway, but at least I now wake feeling warm and cosy and not with a jolt of anxiety anymore.
It will wear off ..... try and treat it as another symptom, one that will ease as you continue to recover.

Nice to hear from you Lynda,no I haven't experienced any nasty thoughts but I do think why is everybody happy all the time and nothing seems to bother them but I'm only thinking negative thoughts like this because of the depression. Just got back from seeing my GP explaining the mornings are still horrendous for me so she has sugested to take the cit on an evening instead of the morning & see how I go & if I'm still very anxious she is gonna reduce my med back down to 10mg, she said it could be to much taking 20mgs, afraid it's all trial & error.
