Have been following discussion on B12 deficiency. Mine is 146 ng/l my dr says it's only slightly low

146ng/l seems low to me. Should I go back to the doctors?

    it is low what is the range, some expects say it should be 500 - 700

    That is low Poppy, mine was treated at a level of 176, which my GP said was low. He told me anything under 200 ought to be treated. In some countries anything under 500 is treated. Hope your GP will help you. Marion

      Hi Poppy, I suggest you have a look at the Pernicious Anaemia Society website. On there is a symptom list, plus lots of advice. It deals with all causes of low B12, not just Pernicious Anaemia.

      They might also be able to provide information for your GP if he remains unhelpful. Marion

    Very very low. I now have optic nerve pallor and saw can be related to b12. Its not good? I was low but dr. Gave me injections and have been on them for six years. I think proton pumps inhibitor meds messed up absorbtion and i use sublingual 5000mg under tongue. You are def. in the UK because in the USA you be on injections already. My doc said wants levels between 400-600 i use all that to get to 400. B12 has real issues on the body when they get  too low.
