Have been on Serra line for 2wks now and I am having acid reflux

Hey,
I am new in this group. I have been put on Sertraline 50mg for 2 weeks now. The first day I took it, I had a serious acid reflux, burning hands and feet, headache and my blood pressure went to as high as 178/106. I felt so bad and scared that I had to call 911. I then took another dose of metropolol and that calmed me down before the arrival of 911.
I saw the doctor the following day and she said I should take clonazepan alternate days for I month to help the Sertraline enter my system within that 1 month but I took the clonazepan for just I wk and I stopped it cos I don't want too much chemical in my system as I am already on antihypertensive.
I have continued the Sertraline but I always have this burning feeling in my stomach through my throat and I feel it up to my tongue. I have been placed on prevacid 30mg daily and I am also taking mylanta. This helps a bit.
Is there any other thing I could do to stop this stomach acid burning feeling?

i've never experienced acid reflux with sertraline and i've been on it for 10 months now, messed about with my dosage quite a bit and experienced other side effects but not that, must be horrible, i've had acid reflux before, before taking sertraline, and i literally couldn't breathe!! must be very frightening for you. my experience with sertraline has been a bit mixed over the past months but finding the right dosage is very important. i'm on 150mg from starting some 10 months ago on 50mg, had all kinds of ups and downs, but touch wood, since i've been on the 150mg i've settled and hopefully i've levelled out and this could be the right dosage for me. are you taking on plenty of water with your meds?? sometimes the tablets can have a coating on them and if they aren't swallowed smoothly down with plenty of water, then it can give you terrible acid reflux??
hope it improves for you :-) keep us posted :-)

Thanks for your advice. Even though I skipped yesterday's dose cos of fear, I will recommence it today, and I will take it earlier than bed time with plenty of water and sleep raising up my bed.
I hope this will make me feel better.
Thank you so much.
