Have had this for last seven years. Still with much pain withinn

the ribs and sternal area. Seems that weather has an affect on

the level of pain. I do swell and at he end of the day, clothes

are much tighter and have to peel off. Pain is severe at time.

Have consulted many a Dr. that do not know what is wrong with

me. pain meds do not seem to help much. But have found that xanax

does help for short amounts of time. i do wear a long line bra wo

help everything stay stable and not move about. This has helped

but bra becomes painful after full day of work. I try to keep working

to keep the pain off of my mind. At times I do feel increased

fatigue and it is hard for me to stay up. Winter is worse as I do not

get that excersise that seems to help me. I have worn a torso brace

but not always helps. I would love to learn more about this Tietze's

syndrome. One Dr. did tell me that he thought this is what I had.

I did not realize that it is suppose to be short term syndrome.

Have burning pain thru my ribs and muscles. Posterior and anterior.

Just need to know someone else out there is having this terrible pain.

I have just been diagnosed with this and was relieved to read your comments I have never been in so much pain in my life. Have got anti inflammatories that are helping a little. I was interested in your comment about being extremely tired. I too am experiencing extreme tiredness and thought I was going mad!! have literally been coming home form work and going to bed. the pain is also getting me down and am very emotional at the moment. I have never heard of this syndrome before but I am glad that there other people out there that know what this is like. Thank you for your encouragement and rest assured you are not alone.

3 months with costochondritis and the anti inflammatories pills and

pain killer does not help. I still have the same intense pain as

3 months ago. The pain is always with me 24 hrs. a day. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF PROLOTHERAPY HELPS. I have seen on the web one

person saying that it did help and also her arthritis. Thank you

I to was diagnosed with costochondritis, it's a bitch. I spend most of the day thinking and worrying about the pain. Pain killers and antiinflammatory drugs do not work. I have had this pain for 6 months now and it is getting worse instead of better. Doctors have no idea what the cause is. I also feel very tired all the time and I think I am getting dumber. I have found that sometimes ice helps, but not always. I hope the situation improves for all of us with the terrible pain.

I have just come back from seeing my surgeon who performed an operation on my neck in September after a battle to get referred from my doctor. I was having due severe pain, burning, pins and needles and numbness through my neck back and arms. Straight away he knew what was wrong and operated on me. All that has been cured since the operation but am still suffering all the symptoms that you describe for Tietzes which is what my surgeon said i have still. However, i am under treatment and it is working. I have just had 8 quarter zone injections (steroids) under my right breast along with 3 in my back two weeks ago and my symptoms were relieved. You need referral to a Consultant as you will get no where with doctors. I am currently under Mr Wasserberg at Droitwich Spa Private Hospital. He's truly marvellous and has changed my life and i don't know how to thank him enough. Good luck to you all and get those injections and after a few weeks your symptoms will disappear and don't take no for an answer off your doctor. GET REFERRED ASAP.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

I have suffered with this condition for 7 years. I am please to hear that the injections do help some I was not lucky they did not help me. I have tried various anti-inflammatory drugs those that worked have now been withdrawn from the market but most i had an allergic reaction to. Couple of thing i have found to help, a pillow with a hole in the middle this can be purchased from any mobility shop. It helps support the neck when sleeping and i have found that i'm not so stiff in the morning when i use it. Stretching exercises these were shown to me by the physio dept at the local hospital you can ask your GP for a referral with out these exercises i don't think i could continue with every day life. Heat pads i find a heat bad placed on my shoulder blade provides a little relief.

Thants it I'm afraid, i wish you all luck and hope someone comes up with something better soon.

I also have these horrible pains sad Feels like the HULK has punched all of my ribs front and back and I just want to die. Just want to rip my ribs out and throw them away. To rid the pain. But just deal with it day by day, minute by minute....it hurts and it sucks.
