Have I overdosed on paracetamol?

Posted , 5 users are following.

Tonight I was feeling really depressed and accidentally took 16 (500mg) paracetamol tablets. Should I contact anyone or will it just pass, please don't answer rude answers I never intended to take so many.

Emilia29, I don't want to cause you alarm but I would strongly advise you to phone for help or get yourself to a hospital emergency room as soon as you can. You could be at risk of liver failure, especially if you took all 16 in a short space of time.

Please don't wait. Get help now.

Let me know how you get on please. xx

It's a really bad moment in life right now for everybody who's suffering with this evil desease, but really i don't think you should panic because what's done is done but if you feel like you did a bad thing dont be afraid to tell anyone because we all do dumb things... that's what makes us human, try and see how you feel in the next hour or so before you begin to to make the situation look worse.

    Hope i helped...

I would take yourself off the nearest accident and emergency or call NHS . That quantity of paracetamol could do a lot of damage. Having thought you really didn't want to kill yourself, be kind to yourself and act now. Maggie

I have experience of paracetamol overdosing as i have done it a few times when my local cmht who i am under has not got back to me when i have told them i am not coping , the only way i knew i would get help is take too many paracetamol and i got sent to A&E where they would always be kind , understanding , caring and more importantly non-judgemental - i understand that some hospitals may not be the same in other areas of the Uk , take yourself to your local A&E , tell them it was a accident , they will do a blood test , you may have to stay overnight but please do not worry - you should be fine but a blood test will give you  a peace of mind , take care , thinking of you x
