Have I passed genital herpes to my anus?

I got infected with genital herpes last year had an outbreak on my vulva once. Then had sort of ulcer on the perineum area twice after that. Right now I'm having ulcers around my anus. Have I passed genital herpes to my anus? Or is it just common to have it around the anus once you have genital herpes?

After 4 months of infection you're largely immune from transmitting it elsewhere. Outbreaks can just migrate a little. Doesn't mean you've spread it.

Is it still considered as migrate a little from vagina to anus area? Does it mean it's actually not a norm for people who has genital herpes to have it around the anus? I googled, and it says not everyone who has genital herpes has anal herpes sad it feels like i get worse and more outbreak around the anus than my vagina. It feels like it's a new infection. rolleyes

It's normal for lesions to appear anywhere in the genital region, even the boxer shorts area. The anus is perfectly normal, because often the perineum is the most susceptible to lesions, and that's right next to the anus. Nothing abnormal.

I see, thank you for your responds. Ever since my first outbreak last year, I didn't get more than one outbreak until 3 months ago. had like irritation on genital area, an outbreak 2-3 weeks ago (that doesn't look like herpes) and right now, I'm having the same thing again, a bump that slowly turns into a red patch, then a wound. It's so not true tht herpes gets better in time.

You could always double check that this different, more frequent issue is herpes and not something else by getting it swabbed. For most people, herpes does get better after the first year and over time generally. Of course, there can be exceptions.

Got it swabbed 3 weeks ago and that test cost quite a lot. I can't spend my money on it again. Took the anti virus medicine, it seems to be controlling it before it turns into a wound. Yeah my first outbreak was so mild that I felt only abit of pain when I touch it. My immunity for this is obviously not building up. But thanks for the suggestionsmile

I have a question. What if my partner is infected? Is it likely that both of us will get outbreaks more often? Because I have a friend who used to have more outbreaks (hsv1, oral) when he was with his gf. They are no longer together and his outbreaks got much lesser. I mean I know that there's no definite answer to this but maybe somebody can share their thoughts to this. smile

Herpes doesn't pass back and forth, so it shouldn't have any bearing. In fact, it's better if both partners have it, because then you don't need to worry!

Hi Jenna, I seem to have the same problem as you. I recently had unprotected sex with an ex boyfriend who I had not seen in about 7 years. No anal sex. I have tested positive for vaginal herpes but my last outbreak was about 6 years ago. The day after I had sex I started feeling itchy in my anus but just thought it was sweat but it just kept getting worse. I'm on my third day like this and there seem to be a couple of ulcers in my perianal area. My vaginal area is just fine no discomfort.
