Have painless sores by genitals

I've just recently got tested for STDS about 2 weeks ago and well my HSV 2 test came back positive and well I've been sleeping with the same guy for almost a year now and he hasn't had any symptoms whatsoever and with me I got a cluster of sores near my vagina well more like my outterm lip but they don't hurt unless something rubs against it but I'm hoping that it's not herpes and that my test came back false positive since I haven't slept with anyone who has genital herpes or cold sores so I don't know what I should do this is the first sign of me habingdon anything.

How did you test positive? By HSV IgG antibody test? If so, what was your index value? If you are having herpes-like genital issues and tested positive by IgG, then it's unlikely a false positive and you can get the blisters swab tested while they are still new as further confirmation, if you want. In fact, a positive means you already had it at least 3+ months ago.

Your bf should also test for HSV IgG antibodies (not IgM - worthless test for herpes), since he may well be and probably is a symptomless carrier. Most herpes is transmitted by those not experiencing symptoms.

It was by an igG test and my index was over 5 but my hsv 1 was test negative and I was also tested positive for Chylmadia but it was low like .91 or something but I don't get how all three of my sex partners had negative tests on multiple occasions and all by igG tests and I'm here with over a 5 and the only symptoms I've had are sores but they don't crust over or anything they just kinda disappear in about a day or so an since I'm not on any antiviral medications I don't know why my symptoms would lasts for such a short amount of time.

Over 5 by IgG is not a false positive, I'm afraid. It's also definitely not a new infection. That is rather quick for herpes to heal, but recurrences tend to be much milder and heal faster, and since you have established infection, you are having recurrences, not a first outbreak (which typically last up to 2-3 weeks). One of your partners must have it. Either he lied about testing or his results, tested too soon after new infection, or had the wrong test done.

Many people wrongly assume they've been tested for herpes when they get an STD panel done, so report themselves "clean" without actual proof. No symptoms is not proof of no herpes either, by the way.

But I saw the test results myself and Ibe never had an outbreak I was with a guy for 2 years and I don't remember having any problems besides having a yeast infection and uti at the same time also the occasional paper cut type tears on my inner lip but I've never had sores on the inside not even now. Just rn I have sores but they don't hurt or itchy nothing they are just there I only noticed them after using the restroom and I was wiping myself off. But with the other two I know one got tested not only once but 3 times all for the same thing because he said he may have herpes but he only had on lesion which was swabbed and a so had an igG test which both came back negative. None of the guys I've been with have had cold sores or anything of that sort but I don't get how I could be the only one with symptoms and a positive test. But even after I found out my doctor didn't put me on antiviral medication they told me it was tested wrong since before I've never had symptoms. I'm just very confused about the whole thing I'm not itchy or sore no pain it's just there but then in not even a week it's gone like nothing was ever there.

The ex with a genital sore could have tested for IgG too soon, and a viral culture swab is not always accurate if the lesion is not new, etc. All I know is that a 5 is essentially definite and it had to have come from someone. Fyi, women acquire herpes more easily than men and are more likely to have symptoms/problems with it. Tears/fissures can be symptomatic of herpes. It's not common, but it is possible to not have a first outbreak until later. More likely that your first outbreak was very mild and mistaken for something else at the time, however, with this recurrence being particularly obvious for some reason. If you want proof, swab test your lesions now while they are still new and "wet". A pcr/dna swab (most accurate) can be done on older lesions, but this needs to be specially requested. Usual swab is for viral culture testing.

Then how come my doctor told me not to worry about it and the ex has been tested on more than one occasions for many stds like Chylmadia and I was tested negative for that back in December but then I happen to get it 4 months later and I was tested back in December for stds all of them and it was negative then too so how come I went from negative to a 5 and I would have gotten it back in April of last year but I didn't have any symptoms besides yeast infection and uti and from what I've read online about HSV since this is what I want to go into I'm studying dermatology so skin infections is something I'm interested in and we'll it looks like nothing that I've seem they don't crust over or blister they are just painless sores I thought they just threw it on there since I tested negative for HSV 1 like it was a low index so it's not active and I've never once had cold sores which I wouldve got since we did have oral sex also we had vaginal and anal and I haven't had anything on my face or anus but yet I have them by the vagina but it's close to my inner thigh then the opening. I hope you can understand my confusion. Like it just doesn't add up. I thought it could be another STD such as Syphilis.

Herpes lesions on mucosal skin don't necessarily blister (more so on regular skin), nor do they necessarily scab over (again, more so on regular skin). Mine never did either. Many people with oral or genital herpes don't even have symptoms, and quite a few doctors are surprisingly ill-informed and behind the times about herpes and herpes testing. This is not helped by the confusing nature of the virus (many different presentations in patients, not just the classic textbook case). Like I said, get it swabbed asap, preferably by pcr, if you want confirmation (viral cultures quickly lose accuracy with time, which is less of an issue with pcr). I only know about herpes, so can't comment much on chlamydia.

Just because the guy doesn't show any symptoms doesn't mean that he doesn't have it,

It could be dominant in his skin ..

The only possible for thing for him to do right now is possibly get a blood test done

But on hI'm it was one painless sore and herpes is supposed to have painful sores..

I mean it differs for different people . Some people don't even get sores they get one little cut and with that little cut and a swab test they have hsv 2 .. Or hsv one genitally ..

Count your blessings that you didn't have an all out painful outbreak .. My first one was horrible I can say that.

Is your outbreak over yet ? If it isn't I really wouldn't want to get my hopes up just yet because it can worsen as the days go on ..

Herpes has many, many different presentations, from no symptoms or often mild, mistaken symptoms (e.g., yeast, jock itch, pimple) to a single lesion, many lesions, clustered lesions, spread out lesions, blisters, ulcers, other bump, tear/fissure, etc.

But this would be my first ever outbreak if it is one. Like first it was just one and now it's on bother sides and right on my lip but not on the inside I don't have any sores or anything on the inside it's all external which I don't know how that's possible but like the sores don't hurt at all I sometimes forget that I have them I don't have any itchiness or pain that's associated with them they are just kinda there. And wouldn't you think that if I did get hsv 2 from a past sex partner that I would've had an outbreak sooner and not a year or 2 years later?

Normally, yes, you would expect a first outbreak near the time of infection, but it can sometimes happen much later in around 10-20% of cases. Or else it was so mild and atypical from textbook cases, you didn't realise it was herpes? Some women just think they have yeast, bv and/or a uti, and it turns out to be herpes. Lesions are often external. If they're internal, you probably wouldn't know, unless inside your urethra (hurts to pee). They can either hurt a lot or barely at all. Mine were only a little sore to the touch, but not otherwise. Anyway, bottom line is that herpes can come in many forms, which can make things very confusing, I agree!

Sorry to say it but it definitely sounds like it's not a false positive, that's exactly how mine were and they don't crust over either.

They're just there for maybe 4 days and then they're gone.

Also never had itching or pain and those paper cuts that you're describing are also symptoms of HSV.

My doctor also told me that it was nothing to worry about, didn't look like symptoms of HSV until the test came back positive.

You probably did have an initial outbreak that you never noticed because it was so mild but with an IGG score of 5, it's definitely not a new infection.

Don't worry about it, try some sudocrem the next time you get an outbreak, works wonders.

And I know this virus comes with a lot of stigma but it's no different to having a cold sore on your lip, it's just in the wrong place that's all so don't stress because that makes it worse sad

I have never had a cold sore and like I don't even notice them like it's just there and very annoying. Like it doesn't hurt at all not even tender to touch. But it's not even like a cold sore because those you can't even control with this you're able to control your symptoms and it's just a skin condition if you think of it that way it's a lot better that's how Im starting to deal with it.
