I get this when I'm badly constipated which you may get if you have IBS which I also have.

Maybe it has to do with your bladder and not Ibs? I have ibs too but my water works have always been fine? Maybe you need urine tests or to see a urologist.

I have had bladder symptoms for years and have seen several specialists who found nothing wrong. I have now started on a gluten free diet and am avoiding 'trigger' foods aswell like garlic/onions. I occasionally have bladder symptoms now but it is significantly better. I had pelvic/hip pain which has now gone aswell. I am looking into the Fodmap diet. Hope you manage to sort your problem out. X

This sounds as if it could be cystitis or a urine infection. Are you getting burning when you pee?

    Drink plenty of water.

Hi Scruffy:  I have noted that you have had blood tests, but what about "a urine test"???  Do you think it maybe a Urinary Tract Infection?...I'm not sure whether you are male/female, but would certainly assume that if female, that this would have been done, as sooooo many females get UTIs as the gentalia all so close together, and sometimes bacteria from bowel gets into the urinary tract....Also pondering if your IBS comes on with Stress related issues, as also stress can make some people want to void more.....perhaps a bit more info may  give us some more positive answers??? However, I feel this should be discussed with your GP and followed through properly, for as it is a concern....he/she should be the one to follow through with your problem......let us know what you come up with.....Bron

good stuff...also thought afterwards re what is called "Interstitial-cyctites"....as you sound a Lot worse than what an UTI would cause, and if no temperatures/shakes etc, could be more in than line too????    Bron

Hiya. Dont rule out it being IBS. I have IBS and for the last 2yrs have been investigated for bladder problems. I too was at my wits end as had bowel and bladder symptoms and pelvic pain, i was convinced i had adhesions. I even paid for an MRI scan because no-one would refer me for one. I am now on buscopan four times daily and amitriptylline at night. With alterations to my diet and the medications i would say i am 70% better although still have bad days. Make sure you get the doctor to check your bladder but if everything is clear try controlling the IBS. Hope you get sorted. X

Hi to all with these problems.

I too am the same and had every test out there!

I got a lot of help and answers from pelvicpainhelp! I have also purchased the book A headache in the pelvis which is fantastic.

Sick to death of medication, it just poisons your system for even more problems!

I've had more problems with the medication and even been in hospital because of it so time to help our selves, you know your own body.

Good luck to each and everyone who is suffering in this way people think it's just a upset stomach!!!!! If only.

HI pamela ; just read your post.

I was told i had ibs; when in fact it was a bile acid issue; it went undiagnosed for 7 years. I was offered amitriptyline but the side effects of these are listed as retention of the bladder - if you get my meaning. i refused to take it becaue the full bladder made my abdomen worse(hurt more).. turns out you have to address the inflammation (anti-inflammotyr medications and foods) and input fiber veggies into your diet. You may want to try (one time) a spoonful of bicarb sodium from your co-op; to see if this eases bowel symptoms.. (it may not work; if you have too much swelling in your abdomen (distended abdomen). if it does yu may want PPI's from your GP. make sure you get all vitamins daily (supplments) ..

Hi All; i want to send a message to all of you; just in case.

if you are suffering IBS symtpoms (along with distended abdomen) you may want to try bicarb of soda; just the once (avoid milk at this time and for the 24 hours). IBS is a generic term for bowel issues; but the liver draws from teh bowel; and bile is reabsorpbed from the bowel; in essence; they are obviously all linked.  Inflammation of one can lead to inflammatio of other areas. Please can you first address the INFLAMMATION issues by taking anti-inflammatory foodstuffs; and/or supplments. (garlic for example). Please take vegetables routinely and cut out on crisps and bad fats (which clog the liver which affect teh gallbladder and bowel - you may have a high cholesterol reading with bowel issues). if the bicarb of soda works; go to your GP and get some PPIs(protein inhibtors). You may also want to read up on psylium husks; who secondary function is to assist with bile/ cholesterol. Pleas also cut down on your caffeine and start drinking water and juices that do you good.  food is a medicine and it helsp to go back to the FIRST symptom you had and address that. Hope this helps. (*veggies/ fiber and supplements to target the initial symptom will hopefull assist you all ).. good luck on the road to cellular repair and healing. smile
