Have you had your gallbladder removed?

I've had acid reflux for about 18 years, but it's always been manageable with PPIs. then about 8 weeks ago my doctor put me on a Statin and my reflux went off the charts. Now, no amount of PPIs will completely stop it, even though I've been off the Statin for a while. I was thinking the Statin was the issue, but I recently lost the colour in my stools, which has happened before. They were all set to yank my gallbladder about 3 years ago, but after I developed breathing issues, the surgeon did not want to touch me.

Since gallstones are partially made of cholesterol, I'm thinking the Statin changed the 'delicate balance' and upset my gallbladder. I've been having issues with a distended abdomen for about two years, which makes it uncomfortable to eat and sometimes makes my breathing worse.

But I'm wondering what people with Acid Refux have experienced after having their gallbladder removed? Since it helps with fat digestion and fat is one of the key contributors to Acid Reflux, I would think it would make it worse? Although it depends on what the gallbladder issues are doing to your digestion.

Any thoughts?
