Have you served in the military?

I’ve been suffering from chronic shingles and PHN for nearly 15 years...I’m also a veteran of the military. I was chatting with an expert in motor neuron disease and apparently there’s a solid correlation to the multitude of vaccinations given. Curious how many people in this group might be in the same boat as me.

It's an interesting theory, but no, I haven't. I think there's a disproportionate number of women who are in this forum, so that could skew your answers. My belief is that women tend to reach out to groups like this for support (just like more women go to doctors). But I'll be curious to see the response.

My brother in law was in Desert Storm when Papa Bush was the President. He got oodles of vaccines. He has never had shingles or any health troubles. Did the expert have any advice how to heal our nerves? This is the craziest thing for me lately. I'm on dilaudid for pain. It's a new prescription for me. I need a higher dose and the doc is a little nervous about it. But he wanted to get me off methadone. Anyhow.....with the dilaudid leaving me at times in full blown wailing and crying, I've started to take this new extra strength Tylenol 8 hour stuff and it's incredible. Right now I sit here and have NO pain. Nada! I know in a few hours it will be back. But I would love to know what the guy had to share with you about nerves and PHN. By the way, have you ever seen an immunologist???? Might want to consider it. Are you taking a daily antiviral? I have an acquaintance who has chronic shingles. She takes a daily valtrex and it keeps her shingles asleep. OK...I look forward to hearing about your experience. ?? Night!!😊
