Haven’t been able to hear for 5 weeks

5 weeks ago.. I woke up and noticed a fullness in my left ear as if it was full with wax and I couldn’t hear properly, everything was muffled, I went to the doctor that week and they said it was blocked. I went to a nurse, they syringed it yet I still couldn’t hear. A week later I went back told them I couldn’t hear properly still, they sent me to have it syringed again, the nurse however refused to syringe it this time due to history of perforated ear drum. Then it started hurting really bad.  I went back to the doctor, they put me on a course of amoxicillin antibiotics for 5 days, nothing happened. Still in loads of pain and the pharmacist put me on cocodamol. I went back to the doctor and she told me to go to a and e to see an ENT specialist as there was nothing more she could do. I went there, had blood tests and swab tests (awaiting results) had micro suction to clear out last bits of wax. Still can’t hear. They admitted me overnight but didn’t as they didn’t get the bloods and swan results in time. So my ear is fully clear.. no sign of infection, and I still can’t hear. They’ve put me on a course of antibiotic ear drops for 5 days, 3 days in and no help yet. And I have an ENT appointment in 2 and a half weeks. any idea as to what is going on or any similar experiences?

You may need an MRI and not wait 2 weeks.  You might need it now.  Maybe.
