I have a rash thats been coming up on my legs for quite sometime. Iver looked at kidney disease rash pics online and it does indeed look like some of them to a tee. I want to know if anyone else has a rash on their legs that has kidney disease?  Im tired all the time and my hands swell.  I have one kidney as well as i was born with one. Thanks  I have pics of the rash im posting with this.

Hi James, I have never had a rash with my ckd so can't help you there, but I would be going straight to GP, as you shouldn't leave anything like that especially if you only have knew kidney to begin with. Don't wait for general advice.

James, from someone who also has one kidney (the other removed in childhood), and many years down the line a diagnosis of CKD3, I just want to reiterate what Louise has said that you should take the advice of your medics on this.  You can have rashes on legs for all sorts of reasons, I recently had one that was diagnosed as varicose eczema, whilst I know of others with leg rashes who have been diagnosed with other conditions.  With the swelling on your hands, I am wondering if you have peripheral oedema.  Good luck and do let us know how you get on.

    Hello James,

this is not necessarily kidney disease related.  Do you have swelling of the leg as well,   is it one leg or both legs,  is the area tender at all,  the rash spreading up the leg,   does it subside if you keep the foot elevated  higher than the hip for a few hours?    So many questions,   so many possible causes.

Best thing to do to be on safe side and put your mind at rest is a visit to your Dr or a nurse even in the practice.

Make an appointment first thing Monday,  you need to know the cause.

    best wishes

    Jessie.
