Having a really bad few days. My back is really painful
And my legs and feet hurt so much this morning I could barely get down the stairs.
The cocodamol and ibuprofen aren't touching the pain and can't take naproxen as it upsets my tummy.
Am going to go back to the gp want didn't know what to suggest to her. I've read about pregabalin and amitripyline but unsure if it's the best thing.
It's really getting me down today

I am also on pregablin having tried gabapentin and I haven't noticed any difference but that's just me.
I take tramadol and paracetamol as well and I am having nerve blocks but you would have to see a neurologist for the blocks.
As for swearing. ....I hit a pothole a few months back and my fingers and toes felt like the nails were being torn offor, I booked in to my Dr's and got the worst one. He actually laughed at me saying that it wasn't like no one was trying to help. I absolutely flipped told him to right up a prescription I needed and threw a load of swear words at him and went out and booked in to see my normal Gp.
I did apologise in an email to the practice manager but also suggested it was time he retired.
Hope you find something that works for you soon.

How are you doing today?
I think pain is a rubbish bad day cycle...if you can't sleep well because of pain, you suffer, if you wake up and feel like you haven't slept, you suffer and well if the pain doesn't stop, you suffer.
It was suggested to me that if you feel rushed or just need to discuss your condition..make a double appointment with your regular GP. Especially if you haven't talked through medications for a while.
If you have access to a printer there are some article within patient.info that my support group have been advised to take with us to less informed GPs/Drs visits.
I'm lucky my GP uses this site for her information. I believe there are Dr guides in the documents when you search the site, alternatively give them the web link.
Don't suffer in silence though, check all the pains one by one, if it isn't responding to your normal meds is it fibro pain or something else??
Obviously you won't know this without help so take a note of the kind of pain, any swelling, when did it start etc..so you and your GP can start to build a picture and tackle it.
Some meds help with sleep, some nerve pain and others muscle/joint pains.
Like others I take combinations and have additional caudal epidurals and steriod treatments on my spine, shoulder and knees but all these are now managed at the hospital and based on my individual complications 😉
Let us know how you get on xxxx

So sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing. Some great advice on the previous posts. Just like to add, from my experience truck loads of meds don't work. am on Amitriptylene, 50gm, helps with sleep, not so much pain. If I get a good nights sleep, I am more able to cope with pain, Hope this helps.
Take care, Anne
