Having a few semi-good days now...

Hi I've been on Sertraline and Propranolol for 3 weeks now (social anxiety/depression) I know that the Sertraline can take a couple of months to work properly, Side effects not been too horrendous but have been feeling very tired and just out of sorts, some days the anxiety was worse. However at the beginning of this week something strange happened. I got that warm tingly fuzzy feeling u get all over your body when you feel really good, just out of the blue (wow, havent felt that in a while lol). And since then I have felt myself getting better at work - a bit more confidence and I can talk to people more without having a major meltdown and feeling like  running away! Not all the time, and i don't want to count my chickens before they're hatched. But it looks positive. I know you can go up and down a bit while the medication does it's job but it's made me feel like there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

Oh Claire, I was skeptical at first and denied I needed help for years, thinking I would be judged and my kids would be taken from me. Well none of that happenes, things were going great. But my spouse wouldn't forgive and took the easy way out. I look at it like this once you help yourself you will feel so much better and can't imagine the old feeling again. I know when it's about to come on and I take a clonidine before the emotional breakdown. The first several weeks while I started sertraline I was sick to my stomach lost about 10 lbs. But as Rachael mentioned you have clarity. Make sure you let your doctor know that you are not taking them

I am so happy for you Rachael. Just try and find your triggers and avoid them as much as possible. I noticed that when I work out for at least an hour the meds work better. Right now I am working out 2 hours a day cause of marital problems. When he leaves I think I will be better. But hang in there, cause tomorrow is another day. Best of luck.

That's great news Rachael and good for you! I've been on them for just over 8 weeks and feel like there are glimpses of my old self coming back at times but in general still feel very low. Hopefully they kick in soon properly and hopefully you're on the road to a full recovery soon! Take care

Thanks guys. I still feel very low however i think the thing that was getting me down the most was the anxiety, it was beginning to ruin my life. I can feel it getting better so hopefully that will make my mood better also. I feel very hopeful, i just hope it's for real and i'm not getting my hopes up for it all to go backwards again.
