Having a wobble......

And you guys are the only ones who really know what its like.....
Quick summary (sorry if you all know it by heart....) March 2015 Right TKR, October 2015 Left TKR, 24th Feb 2017 Revision of Right TKR due to premature loosening
From the outset my surgeon had told me how difficult and painful the Revision procedure and recovery was going to be, and whilst I listened to him, I have to admit I didnt see how much more painful/difficult it could be compared to a Primary TKR (we all know how delightful THEY are!)
WRONG!! I've been making good progreess, and my last measurements at Physio were 96 degrees bend and "beautifully straight" according to the therapist. My muscles remain weak, and I have little stamina but that will all improve in time, and with a lot of work. Accepted.
What has really battered me over the past couple of days is the relentless pain. And frustration at the length of time I've been going through this damned process - over 2 years straight. Im still taking heaps of painkillers, which usually keep a lid on the pain enough for me to manage around the house and do my exercises several times a day, but today I've admitted defeat and crawled into bed for a few hours.
Im constantly grumpy, in tears, and just want to shut the curtains, pull the duvet over my head, and stay there. Which isn't healthy, I know, but the usual mood-lifter of going out for a walk in the fresh air isnt possible.....
So Im sorry for bringing such a low vibe to the group, especially at Easter, but I know I am understood wothout question on here xx

Sounds like hell... however, it does get better. If you need the prescription pain meds, take them. I also use a prescription gel called "pennsaid ", it is the same stuff as voltaran (sp?) but it's 2% of the same med. I am in the US and Medicare only pains if it is prescribed by an orthopedic surgeon.
Depressed? I spent so many minutes crying in the shower, while everyone around me said, "it can't be that bad". I am just about four months now and although I am relatively pain free, I still ache at the end of the day and have trouble sleeping. But, I discovered this cheesy tv channel (METV) that shows perry mason and twilight zone. We also subscribe to the Acorn channel on our Roku, and I watch all the British mysteries and dramas. ( am now watching Inspector Morse, from the first season! ). So, eat the chocolate ( when my kids were growing up they never could figure out why their bunnies had no ears) and sit in the sunshine.
Keep in touch

Hi Ellen
Hope you're enjoying Inspector Morse, John Thaw was wonderful wasn't he?
They've made a series about Morse when he was starting his career called 'Endeavour', watch out for it, the lead actor isn't like John Thaw but very, very good. With all the 60s clothes& cars it's quite nostalgic.
Did you tell your children that earless bunnies were a different breed? I really laughed at that one! Lol
We live not far from Northaw Great Wood & when we passed them, my daughter would say ( she was only about 3) 'blurgers live in there' she couldn't say burglar! I don't think she even knew what a burglar was!! Where she got that idea from I have no idea, probably one of her older brothers!! We still laugh about it today. She loves to walk there now, so it didn't cause any lasting phobias!!
I'm glad the pain is ok now. This is some operation (butchery) isn't it??
Take care
Marilyn
