Having an 'attack' on sertraline

Posted , 4 users are following.

Has anyone taking these for anxiety had an attack since starting sertaline and find it makes them feel like they lost a few weeks progress. Its quite frustrating as it kind of came out of nowhere. What would your advice be, get straight back on the horse or take a few days at home to reset?

Thanks all

It's very common to struggle for the first few weeks; it has been two months but I am starting to feel more human now with sleep, appetite and mood, etc.  I do have to take 200 mg as I have OCD.

    Good luck.

      Hi Avril,

Ive been on mine for 6/7 weeks, so about the same, I'm only on 75mg though. Glad you are feeling more like yourself, I am too, just knocked me back having an attack. Thought I was past that. Hope your progress continues!

Hey, I have been taking 100mg for about 2 months now and the same thing happened to me earlier this week. I felt like I had fallen back so many steps... BUT as the days went on I noticed I came out the other side much easier and faster. Hope this helps.

I'm on 150mg and now and again I have the beginning of a panic attack. It's usually if I'm tired ...I work nights so my sleep pattern is bonkers?.

I can beat the attack by breathing in through nose and out through mouth for 3 mins. After one minute I shout STOP STOP STOP ...in my head ..not out loud...and I feel loads better.

Try Googling " how to stop a panic attack in 3 minutes"

    Good luck
