Moderation is key. Remember, 3 weeks is still early in your recovery. Many times what our brains think is time to be back to normal activities is just not what the hip agrees with. For me, it took a while for muscles and tissues in that area to stop being angry, like at my 6 week post op check, I was still having random pains.
If you start having pain, cut back on the exercise , rest, elevate, and ice. Ice where it hurts (always with a cloth between it and your skin) and for 25-30 mins. Do it frequently. Give it a couple days or so to see if the pain improves. If it does not or continues to get worse, then call the office and have them give you advice and support. There are so many aches and pains that show up after surgery, even weeks in.Take pain meds as prescribed not when you start to feel pain.
It is hard not to worry, as long as you have all the aides for recovery and easy meals manage your day on your personal progress one day at a time.
It takes 3-6 months for short term healing and 8-12 for long term healing.
There are a lot of things we are not told before surgery. We learn as we go. it gets easier as healing improves our mobility a little more each day.
