hi guys,

im due my op in 5days for tendon release, tbh i dont even have a clue what the procedure is, what is going to happen after, the doc said there is a chance i couldnt work again. cry i hope i can, hate not working & im going to be off a while with also having a bunion removed at the same time, im only 24. But i have to bite the biscuit & take a chance as the problems are just not getting any better after trying physio etc. I was wondering if anybody has had the same op & what happened?

Hi thanks for asking..The op went fine. Recovery is still on going, pain and swelling starting back up as it was before the op which I think is due to being on my feet most of the day at work. I now have a swelling lump on and around the scar point from where they cut the tendon. Physiotherapist has discharged me as there is nothing else they can do, I have also started with a stabbing like pain in my big toe where they fused the bone with the pin. It's also running down the outside of my foot. Beginning to think this isn't going to get better as it used to be long before this all started. I can't even manage 2hours on my feet with it all flaring up. Back to the doctors I go & to say bye to working until i can find a place that allows sitting. So yeah all in all I have a fully working fantastic falf  (foot/ankle/calf) __NOT__ Lol

No problem at all smile. Sorry to hear recovery is still on going after 6/7 months, I just had Achilles tendon repair done about 3 weeks ago,. thankfully it wasn’t a complete reconstruction as they first thought they may need ligaments out of my knee. Cant imagine the stress its putting on you.

I would be out of work as well if it wasn’t for my job being office based, maybe that could be something for you to do whilst the recovery is still on going.

I should have my cast off on the 17th but due to the NHS being terrible they can’t fit me in till the 26th... but saying that I know it’s going to be a long process 3 weeks is just the beginning sad.
