Having pain in part of my upper back after trying to strength shoulder after my surgery

I am curious to know if anyone one else that has had a shoulder labrum surgery has had any issues on the upper part of their back while trying to restrengthen their shoulder. It has been almost a year since my surgery on my right shoulder, and I haven't started to get back up to my original strength until a month ago. These past couple of weeks I have felt this tight feeling in the upper right corner of my back, and no remedy has been helping improve it. It could be that this part of my back (as I circled on the diagram), is not used to all of this tension again, but I have found that nothing is helping loosen up this part of my back. If anyone has any tips or advice on how to subside this tension, or letting me know if this is a normal occurance after trying to get it stronger, it would be much appreciated. I have tried searching other websites for anyone else who has experienced this, but I have yet to find an articles or forums on it.

Hi, I had a torn labrum repaired a year ago as well. I also had a humerus fracture, but I'm told the labrum is often the bigger problem for rehab. Have you experienced pain in that area at all during the last year? I had severe pain there after all my surgeries (I had three). Look up Quadrilateral Space and it might give you some insight. I have found the source of the pain is scapular dysfunction, so if you can work with a P T they should focus you on scapular strengthening. After six weeks of forcing proper scapular movement I got rid of the pain over the armpit at the back of the shoulder.
I am struggling to regain strength because I still have terrible pain every time I lift my arm up to the side with my palm facing down, ie, use my deltoid. I have no external rotation. It is very frustrating.

Thanks for the reponse! Now that I'm thinking of it, I have experienced pain in this region of my back early on in my rehabilitation process. Although, it wasn't as prevalent since the exercises that I were doing weren't strenuous. After looking up scapular dyskinesis, I believe that is exactly where the source of the pain is occuring from. I have found that this is also a common in occurance in people who have played overhead sports, and I used to play those regularly. Infact, sports were the reason i tore my labrum to begin with, so this diagnosis would make sense. I appreciate the help
?Also, I hope you are able to get your shoulder stronger again soon!
