Having some trouble after upper endoscopy

its 2 am as I write this. i should be asleep but cant as when I do fall asleep an intense tightening sensation/ pain in my chest suddenly jolts me out of my sleep. i had an upper endoscopy performed 9 days ago for esophageal stricture which my doctor dilated. all seemed to go okay, then the first sign of pain came that evening following the procedure. I started getting painful spasms in my chest and I have had these on seldom occasion in the past. the spasms left by the next morning but then i was left with some residual soreness from the spasms. since then ive had trouble sleeping as at some point during sleep im awakened by a flash of pain in my chest which actually scares me out of my sleep. Ive has a sensation of shortness of breath at times also especially when lying down. i think maybe what started all this trouble is the day of my procedure i didnt take my usual acid reducers and so it might be the result of a phenomenon known as rebound acid which can be severely painful when a person stops taking their acid reducers suddenly. now i think the nerve endings in my chest are irritated from all this. I talked to my GI doctor the day after my procedure and told him I was feeling okay but didnt mention the painful spasms. Im swallowing food ok with no pain so thats good. Just hoping this trouble while sleeping and shortness of breath goes away soon as im not getting much sleep!
