having symptoms of hypothyroidism

Posted , 4 users are following.

Recent blood results TSH 4.77 free T4 15.8, gradually been feeling more tired, putting on weight etc etc.  Saw my GP the other day and he doesn't think my thyroid is to blame for these symptoms.  I am having a repeat blood test in September and checking for thyroid antiboldies and then possibly a trial of thyroxine depending on results.  Any thoughts am I over reacting.  Thanks

Have you all seen the statement issued by the british thyroid association recently? Basically some really good questions have been asked, to which they respond. Anything to do with thyroid patients not feeling well after being given the right dose of thyroxine is given the answer 'not enough data to change our view'. (I might be being a bit harsh here). At least the questions are now being asked. Which should prompt the research studies to answer them.
