Head pressure, hissing sounds and tight head and sinus muscles

Im so frightened. I have been having pressure in my head for nearly two years now. The last two months has been much much worse. It doesnt come and go, its there all the time. I can here grating crunching sounds all over my head and face. I had a brain and sinus scan when all started which showed clear. Tinnitus started suddenly in the night. Never gone. Also increased to point of cant cope over last few months. 2/3 heavy prolonged periods in last 2 years otherwise they fairly normal. Missed one completely last month but then had dreadful one this month, prolonged heavy and clots. I wake up feeling like have flu. I also have strange sensation when i wake where all the weight in my head has shifted to one side and i cant hear properly so i turn over. After a while it shifts to that side and my hearing almost goes that side. Once up, which is a task in itself, it levels out after about 5 mins. Seen SO many specialists, neurologists, ENT, doc put me on Sertraline but i came off that as didnt help. I cant sleep with tinnitus. I cant function, each day is a mental battle to get through and every day i say i cant take anymore a dozen times a day. Ive been told im depressed but its my symptoms that are depressing me! All blood checks from doc come back normal. I truly cant cope. I have just seen an Endocrinologist who has ordered another brain scan which has frightened the hell out of me again as well as more bloods. All my eggs are in his basket now, if he cant come up with somethng and help me i dont know what ill do. I am overwhelmed with fear day in day out and thru night. I wonder how much more anxiety my body can take. Now started to get giddy. I have nose bleeds when ive never had them before. Sharp needle pains everywhere. Blurred and strained vision. Flashing lights on vision. Breathing and panic attacks. Cry alot but even that hurts muscles in my head. I feel desperate. Someone please tell me if this is perimenopause? At least then i have some hope that it will end one day. Tho i worry what damaged is being done to my ears. They have been checked by audiologist..nothing found.. hearing tests okay even tho my hearing keeps going ... what is happening to me??!!

Sorry that you feel this way. It sounds like a complete nightmare. Although I can't compare my experience with fibromyalgia to you, I have some things in common. I have had horrible sinus pain along with migraines and dizzyness non stop for months. I had an MRI-clear, I had a sinus CT-clear, I've seen gastro specialist for nausea. ENT found swollen lymph nodes in my neck almost 3cm large which scared the hell out of me, but were ruled benign and reactive. I continue to have horrible dull migraines with nause and dizzyness and sometimes it feels like someone is squeezing my head. I get random ringing in my ears and sometimes my vision changes- everything feels brighter and more vivid. Along with this my worst fibro symptoms are terrible pain in both legs and mid-back. I found the greatest relief from a traditional chinese doctor. He has put me on a herbal regimen- which I drink 3 times daily to help balance my body as I have circulation problems. He also provides a very painful and deep acupuncture that provides pain and headache releif. I hope nothing is wrong with you and it is just the fibro like me- it seems something would be found by now if it wasn't.
I would highly recommend finding a traditional chinese doctor in your area that is able to read your pulse and suggest a plan of action. I am not Chinese myself but had a friend suggest one to me. Ask around. I was also given a strict diet- no red meat, no coffee, no cold water, no fruits or raw vegetables. Eat hot food (not fried) and drink hot water. Good luck with your results and hope you find releif.

Well dear, be grateful at least that all the tests so far have come back normal. I don't think you have anything of a serious nature. The body often works as a whole and blockages in our system can create all kinds of weird and scary symptoms. It sounds more to me like a blockage in the neck area. Have you been to see an Osteopath? I am not much one for chiropractors since it is a bit more of a rough treatment and a great deal of cracking. But Osteopaths are much more gentle and they can release blockages so that proper circulation can be restored. I really would encourage you to look at this area. Blockages in the neck caused by a great deal of stress or repetitive movements or lifting, can cause serious pain and dizziness, etc. You are also frightened sweetie and that just creates a viscous circle in your symptoms. Perhaps taking a medication for a time to calm your nervous system could be of benefit. Menopausal symptoms can be bizarre at times as well with some women. It creates a great deal of overall anxiety in our bodies. That could be a contributing factor as well. Usually a crackling feeling in the head is often due to a Sinus condition. Good that you had that checked out. Please try to reassure yourself that it is nothing really serious. It is just very trialsome for you to endure. Anxiety can cause a great deal of terrible symptoms as well. I suffer from General Anxiety Disorder myself and when I am facing anxious situations, I get some pretty horrendous symptoms. Our bodies react to worry and produce all kinds of reactions. I would try an Osteopath if I were you. That may be the answer. Poor sweetie, I feel for you! This FM can be extremely difficult with all of the other stuff that comes with it. Take courage. You will get through this. It will not last indefinitely. Warm hugs! xx

Poor you Fragile....I'm really feeling for you..I had similar symptoms...it ended up being the drying out of most of the fluid in one ear..so I have vertigo 24/7..I was soo scared too waiting for MRI and other test results.think I just sat on the lounge for a few weeks.p waiting and worrying...the ENT...found nothing..nothing on the MRI either..I was diagnosed with Sorgrens Syndrome before Fibro some thirty years ago..just another autoimmune condition which one of the symptoms is drying out organs...so I feel very blessed..that's all it was..I live with it now have done for 14 years now you just adjust...feel very grateful it could have been a lot worse..a lot of my symptoms at the time were anxiety..they were my heavy head feelings.etc..once I knew what it was..it was almost a celebration....there is no medication for it..before I was diagnosed I was given much medication for dizzyness none working of course ..I was very stressed too as you can imagine...which was really bad for the Fibro as Fibro loves stress..it makes every pain etc much worse..hope you get sorted really quickly..as I reckon most of your issues might be due to stress..which is quite normal..so I'm not going to say try not to stress...I really feel for you...maybe get your Rhumotologist to check it out...be blessed Fragile...have a lovely day..😘😘 I'll be praying 🙏 for you..please let us all know..

Morning Christine and Fragile;; good to hear from you again.: and Thankyou for your above reply to Fragile. I had forgotten re your "dizziness", too, and it has come in good timing for me too. I have developed the "dizziness" too over the past year+, and after reading "how auto-immune conditions can affect our Inner-ears etc", realize that this is what I feel is happening to me. It told me that the auto-immune condition/s "can attack/ dry up the fluid in the middle ear/s etc and hence the Crystals that are normally floating around in this fluid, become Set in the Gel/fluid, causing our imbalance/dizziness etc"
?I have trialled going to a Physio to "try and re-arrange the crystals" without any success, and have made an appt with a Specialist Physio to make sure there is nothing she can do; but do not have any great feelings that she will be successful, either.
?Hence Fragile, I too, feel that this Maybe??? what is happening to you, ??? as to your heavy periods, have you been seen by a Good Gynaecologist? This is where I feel you may get some answers/help for this problem? Even if you have to pay out of pocket for 1 private consultation with someone of renown, it may be more beneficial than waiting for the public system, which can take quite awhile in some areas??
?will be thinking of you, and hoping you get some help soon; and please don't give up. Remember we are all here to help each other. Do also think about talking to a professional re your feelings, as although we Know we are not "clinically depressed", the issues that we have to deal with can become Very hard to cope with on our own, and talking can make us see things a little lighter. Please keep in touch.....Bron
