Head tremors, and other head symptoms. Very worried about this

Hello everyone, for about 6 months now I’ve been on citalopram and propranolol for my health anxiety and it’s workdes wonders. About 2 months ago my doses got upped from 10 to 20 on citalopram and from 20 to 40 on propranolol. And for the last week or so I’ve been getting a sensation that the back of my head is shaking/vibrating when I’m moving about or using the muscles in that area... and get the odd brain zabs from time to time and headache also but not very often. I’m just so worried it’s something like MS developing or a tumour. But I’m just hoping it’s some sort of delayed side effects of the drugs, would appreciate any advice as I’m really worried thanks in advance

Hi Kieran. I am also on ciltalopram 20mg and propranolol for my anxiety

How long were you on the citalopram before you noticed a difference or that your anxiety was improving?

    Hi Kieran

Don’t worry I get these and so do others people on Cit , I get zaps and like muscle twitches in my head and body , makes me feel a bit sick and tired sometimes, they will go but possibly not completely, I found the higher the dose the worse they were so I’ve stuck at 25mg , when I was on 10mg it hardly happened at all but I had a breakdown 5 months ago so had to up dose, 40 would be way to strong for me I couldn’t even handle 30 !

I am concerned I've been on citalopram for 6 weeks now and beta blockers for about 4 days at x3 a day.

I have noticed a slight difference but not a great deal. Did the citalopram make you feel low?

Yes low at first then my mood raised greatly, there is a rough patch but trust me it does get much better. What is your propranolol dosage

Should I be feeling better after six 6 weeks though?

      I'm on 10mg of propranolol.

I’d definitely give it another week or two! Took me 4 weeks to notice a change but everyone is different

Did you ever have loud thoughts. Like even if you tried to distract yourself you couldn't?

No not loud thoughts... I’ve experienced brain zaps/tremors/pain on the left side of my head, messing my speech up, all while on citalopram.

Hi I have had funny head pains whilst on 20mg.I have noticed i hold my jaw without knowing also. I have had a scan and told it is nerve pain and had a nerve block(that didn't work)  The pains  could be muscle twitches, always in the same place and on movement and chewing. Also found that I can only drink a couple of glasses of wine on the megs as get a really bad head after.

I’m the same with the alcohol I can’t have a lot, also get tired quicker than I usually would to maybe after 12 hours awake I’m ready for bed. And that’s what I’m thinking maybe slight muscle spasm at the back of my head

It seems the side effects are very extensive. Always makes you feel better when others have similar pains etc, puts your mind at risk a bit. It’s annoying with the alcohol, but it helps the anxiety so worth it. Just means I have now become a light weight on nights out!!!

i thought there was something bad going on with the head pains but scan has reassured me so just put up with it. Maybe they are zaps ( like other describe ) but more like a nervy muscle spasm.muscles tight in my neck and shoulders also , which my cause it too?

wish sometimes I had thought more before starts this med but it has helped.
