Headache By Ear and Tingly Jaw on Right Side

Hi everyone,

I am 22 years old. For about 2 years now I've been having episodes of having a tingly jaw and tingly back teeth, sometimes with head pain that occurs by my right ear. I had an MRI near when it first started for this reason and everything was normal. The head pain has now come back in the same spot and because I have health anxiety, I am worried. When I touch the spot it hurts near my ear, I can feel a vein pulsing there with my hand. This may just be a coincidence, but the MRI would have caught things like a brain aneurysm, correct? Does anyone else experience this sort of thing? Thanks for all positive input!

I should add that the actual pain is a mild burning ache in what feels like one specific spot.

    Hi Regina,

As you have had an MRI scan, anything sinister would have been picked up, so try not to worry that anything bad is going on.

What this sounds like, as I get the same symptoms is a condition called TMJ Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome.  Does your jaw lock or click at all?

Go to your dr or dentist and suggest this could be the cause.  You might have to have a jaw xray to see the extent of the issue.  I had one done and now I have to see the specialist at the end of the month.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

    Take care and best wishes
