Headache everyday for a week+

Hey everyone! I'm 24, I've been having a headache everyday since June 18th. My diet is on point, I'm fit, I sleep well and I and excercised regularly until I started getting headaches. I don't drink or smoke, I never even smoked once in my life. I'm a gamer and stay a lot in front of the PC.

How it all started: I went to a gaming event nearby on the 18th, had to wake up early to catch the bus, slept only around 4hrs, didn't eat enough and I was walking around the event the entire day from like 8 AM to 7 PM. I ate some bad sandwich there and was in the WC for 20 mins. I didn't even use transport that much, I walked back home even when I was feeling terrible, I don't know why, I'm so dumb. I'm pretty sure I covered an insane distance.

When I came home all my legs and arms were sore, my pulse was 100+ while lying down (usually its 60), had a terrible headache as if I was really drunk the night before and was feeling cold (I never feel cold). The day after that I still had that terrible headache, my pulse was almost back to my normal condition - 75 or so. I didn't stay on the computer at all these 2 days.

The next day I was completely fine and since I was so confident with my physical condidition [I've been working out for 3-4 months now extensively (calisthenics + cardio) and I'm honestly pretty fit] I thought its a good idea to play 29 games in a row (that average 20 mins each). So I essentially played all day without  much breaks. The game I play is really competitive and requires a lot of concentration since it's kind of like real time chess, so I stressed my brain probably even more than your average guy that just plays for fun. I got a terrible headache again and had trouble falling asleep.

Since then I've had the same annoying mild headache every day. I'm really scared that I might've unlocked some condition. I know that what I did was retarded. I tend to overtrain from time to time, I overtrained like 3 times total in 4 months.

I'm honestly super annoyed that I keep having to deal with stuff like this even though my diet is perfect, I excercise regularly and I don't drink or smoke... I read that these things can be genetic too, some people are more prone to it etc. I'm pretty sure it has to be that because I have friends that are super unhealthy and don't have to deal with that...

It just feels so unfair to see friends or acquintances that go out partying every night, barely get any sleep, drink alcohol, smoke and have almost no problems while I have to deal with stuff like this time and time again even though I have an almost perfect lifestyle (besides staying in front of the PC too much)

I'm thinking of going to my GP to ask about his thoughts on the matter but I've honestly lost faith in doctors. A few months ago I had problems with high pulse and I was prescribed betablockers and it took so much work to get rid of that poison and get in good shape on my own.

I'm scared they will prescribe me some shXXXy medication that I will have to fight with again.

Gaming has been my job for the last 5-6 years and I don't really have much else to fall back on. I'm also scared that I might have to give up on it cause honestly I don't think there's much else that I can change in regards to my diet, sleeping patterns etc. I even eat homegrown food. :D

What should I even do ? Do I get some brain scans or what?

Thanks for reading this wall of text ! I hope I wasn't too annoying. :D I'll put time in researching some of the threads here too.

I'm having the same problem with headaches currently. As a software developer I use a PC all day, then because im into gaming also I go home and use the computer. Pretty much have a headache everyday, can be in the forehead or back of head.

Just been to the doctors yesterday and they said once this sort of headache starts its difficult to break the cycle. Due to the fact I use the computer so often with factors such as stress, glare, lighting, posture etc this contributes to the headache and makes it difficult to get rid of.

They didn't really say much other than that and it didn't sound serious enough for them to look further so I've been given some Amitriptyline to take before bed everyday and to use for 4 weeks until i go back to the doctors. Hopefully this stuff works! But its worth going anyway to get checked up.

The only other option I can think of is a total detox of using computers but that wouldn't work for either of us. I'll try post my findings with using amitriptyline.

I've been given nortriptyline but am reluctant to take them until I have exhausted all other possible treatments.

What other possible treatments are there?

Keep me informed about the Amitriptyline, I'm interested to know if it will have any impact!

I'm thinking of going to get checked soon, I'll ask them about that medication. I'm just scared it might turn out to be another useless med that makes things worse like the betablockers. At this point I just feel kinda hopeless because I'm almost a 100% sure I eat and sleep as healthy as possible and I'm pretty fit...

I thought about total 'detox' too but gaming is basically my life so I literally have to go on some sort of vacation on the seaside or in the mountains and I don't think I can do this right now. Also, I don't have a girlfriend currently and that makes it a bit awkward... :D

I'll maybe try to work out tomorrow despite the headache and see how it goes.

I read some other threads here and some guy was suggesting acupuncture and saying that it helped him. (But I think it's expensive)

Depends what the gp/specialists say and what you can suggest from your symptoms.

My neurologist administered an occipital nerve block but that didn't work for me. Plan B for him is to put my on the ADs. I'm holding off this for now. Also having treatment from an upper cervical chiropractor, which so far seems to help me sleep better at least for a few days, but perhaps no direct impact on my most troubling symptom. I also did a test for pyroluria (found this condition because my symptoms 'gets worse with stress'wink and show to be positive. I'm on a vitamin regime (a week now) but again yet to see noticeable improvement.
