Headaches

Hey all. Does anyone else wake up with a headache mostly every day? Mine are weird, I'll wake up with one, but it's pretty minor. It's a tension headache, and I usually forget about it or it passes after an hour of being up. I always have a small headache that isn't bothersome but I tend to wake up just feeling foggy until it passes, because you know, the sleep isn't refreshing. Any tips?

Hi there, these symptoms could be neurogical or anxiety or arthritis. Headaches are very widespread as symptoms go. I  had a nervous breakdown following a severe car accident and post traumatic shock. That started in a similar way as your symptoms. However, yes it could be neurological, but you have few symptoms so I doubt any doctor could accurately diagnose from these. If you think it could be ME or similar, then read about the symptoms. Look at your diet for sure and make sure all your trace elements and vitamins are correct.make note of any other pains and symptoms. After this, you will have a more definite

idea of what could be wrong. It could just be nervous stress.

    Best wishes.....Mitty

Oh, I've been dealing with CFS for over a year now and it has greatly improved so I know what's up. I was just wondering if others sufferers have this too

    Hi

I have recently been advised my GP that I probably have ME.

I first started to be ill over 2 yrs ago and one of my first symptoms was tension type head ache, which was always worse on waking. In the beginning the head ache used to diminish but never go completely. Over time the headaches have gradually got more intense and are there 24/7 (feels like the flu or a bad hangover). I have lots of other symptoms , but the head ache has been the most persistant.

Sorry to hear that! My symptoms have improved majorly over the last year (I'm also only 18). The headaches are more minor now but frustrating. Brain fog, bad memory, soar throats have all faded away for me

I get exactly the same type of headaches every now and again. I have had M.E. for 33 years.

sorry , I did not know you had ME. diagnosed. I have headaches, at the back of the head that comes round to the front and then behind the eyes. The specialist believes that my illness has affected my ocippital nerve. My short term memory is not very good . As the day goes on the feelings of illness get better. By about 11pm I can think clearly again. I must say that as my illness has progressed then the pains have become  worse and I started to sweat badly during the night..

ME is like having bad flu that never seems to go away. There are many other symptoms. My ME came on quickly and with a vicious headache like migraine and similar pains over my body. Only since I was put on morphine can I get any decent sleep. After 2 hours or so, then I awake.

So sounds like most people with ME get similar headaches and sleep patterns.

Yes, I also get the headaches, typically upon waking and before going to bed.  I find they are worse if the inside of my nose is dry do I use petroleum jelly.  I think this is a very common symptom of CFS .
