Headaches

I've recently been diagnosed with fibro now everything I experience my doctor said is fibro. I haven't been to neurology yet and I have been having headaches and neckpain for 10 months but recently worse for two weeks my head pain changed and it felt like I got stabbed but it only hurt for 5 minutes then went away and I was extremely nauseated right after. The next day I was really dizzy and the day after that I had a strange wave like sensation come over my head, it lasted for a minute then I instantly felt nauseated again. I've had this happen to me 4 times now. It feels like I pass out but awake?? This is the first time nausea happened though. I feel like I might be having partial seizures or something but my doctor isn't getting that. I know everyone is different but Is this just fibro? I use to have chronic migraines but haven't had one for 5 years and its not that. I have talked to the advice nurses who tell me to talk to my doctor. Should I just go to the e.r. next time it happens?

    Hi there.

If your doctors not listening to you. And these are happening more frequently now. I would advise You do go to your A+E. Sometimes it takes you to go down this route albeit you can be there some time. But worth it if you get the right diagnosis. And this will put your mind at rest. I've been fobbed off by doctors in relation to some really unbearable pain im having. Just said it was the fibro. But a new lady doctor is not convinced. So put me on more pain relief. And has arranged new xrays. Which I'm having this week. So you go get yourself checked out. And please let us know how you get on. Good luck.

I definitely reiterate what Julie has said as it seems that your GP is putting everything down to Fibro.  The doctor may be correct, but they should be referring you to a specialist to be on the safe side.  I hope you feel better soon.

    Hi,

I've heard that bad headaches and nausea are symptoms of Fibromyalgia, I would make sure. I think I agree with Julie and Sukes, you should go to a&e next time. (I had to go to an out of hours doctors, over a numb thigh, just to get help. Turns out it was nothing to worry about, but it helps to know.)

Let us know how it goes. 💜
