Headaches and neck/back heaviness doesn't go away

Hello everybody, I am a 19-year old male from Singapore. There's this issue that I have been having since the start of Jan 2019. Whenever I would exercise (or just engage) my back and neck muscles, sit for too long or sleep on my right side, my neck/ back would feel heavy and stiff for the next couple of days. While this is bearable, the tough part comes as there will always be a headache accompanying it. The headaches runs from the back of my head all the way to the front of the head and eye sockets and it always only happens on the right side of my face. These episodes usually lasts for 3-5 days and happens about once every 2 weeks to a month. Every doctor I've been to says this is not a big deal and just prescribes me painkillers but it is clearly not helping the cause and it has been affecting my life severely for the past year. I have been to a specialist who took an MRI scan of my neck and theres was no abnormalities observed. I honestly have no idea what to do now nor do I know the cause of this but I know that I just cannot keep living on with headaches so often. Any advice would be very much appreciated, thank you.

    Hey man,

Sorry to hear you're dealing with this. I have been "diagnosed" with New Daily Persistent Headache. Here is a description and study on it: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3444222/

Basically, I have a constant, 24/7 head and neck pain. I also have lots of tingling and tremors. The good thing for you, at least from your description, is that it is episodic, meaning it's not constant. I would definitely get to a neurologist and try to break the cycle before it gets worse. That's what I should have done. I'm 1 year in and tried lots of different medications, treatments, etc.

If you have any questions, just let me know. I hope you get better soon!

    Hi Tay12,

I used to battle with the same symptoms for years, I tried every pain killer but it was always a matter of time before the feeling came back. I my doctor could not diagnose because he couldn't find anything wrong during every check up and after every blood test.

Its been almost 3 months now since I found the solution and the reason why I joined this site is to spread the message to everyone out there suffering.

First of all get your vitamin levels checked, before then I'd recommend some vitamin B12 and B1 they are the cheapest thing in the market and you'd be surprise how much these would help, for me its been a life saver and I couldn't be happier.

    I hope this helps you.

    All the best

    Bamson
