All those symptoms are symptoms of stress and anxiety. Ironically the key to overcoming it is to relax. (Easier said than done) but talk solace in he fact that it's benign and nothing to be scared off. smile

Look into muscle trigger points, accupressure and general relaxation tips (deep breathing, hot baths etc) if you have an electric blanket crank it on sky high. It'll curb your twitching for a while smile

Thank you just panicked me a bit as started to think it was neurological, I'm so stressed out about all what's going on with my body right now I just never know what to do for the best, I've tried so much but still feel terrible, I try to get on with everyday life but it's a struggle when half the time your not with it, I'm a mum to 2 small boys and feeling like this is a daily battle plus now not being able to sleep is going to have a massive knock on effect, I just feel something isn't quite right all the time!

That's what stress does to you! Have you been to your doctor and been checked out? If they say it is stress and anxiety then believe them. Acceptance is key, everyone thinks anxiety is a very easy thing to overcome, but it's very real. hope things get better

Thank u for your replies, I have been to the doctors numerous times about the symptoms I have, I am currently taking sertraline and propranolol for my anxiety but am new to the sertraline so I'm guessing it's not working yet! I have had a ct scan, bloods, physio, ultra sound on my face & neck, ecg and am currently waiting to go in and have my heart monitored for 24hrs, it's not the fact that I haven't accepted it's anxiety it's just I don't know how to deal with the physical side effects it has, it's 4.30 and I'm wide awake and the first thing that hits my is the sweats and a tightening in my throat and I know that this is just going to escalate now and set me up for the rest of the day, it's got to the point where unless I have to I don't want to leave the house which for me being 34 with 2 young children isn't an option..! I just feel so trapped by this x

    Hi emma,

IN reading all of your post I really feel your pain. One thing is for sure you are stressed but your body is trying to tell you something..A bad headacheĀ will come from high blood pressure and also what are you eating before you go to bed..you would not believe the extreme side effects of to much salt..Are you drinking alllot of soft drinks??diet or reg??..The dizziness could come from the propananol wich is a higher dose of bp meds..they may try to reduce dosage or change it for you...I am very familiar with that medication,,,You need to try to get you a small break from the kids to see if that helps with your stress..You could ALSO HAVE A THYROID PROBLEM HAVE YU BEEN CHECKED FOR THAT? that can have a major impact of your body as play tricks on your mind..it will make you think you are dieing,,,,Rest assure yu have nothing serious just try to relax and pray about the situation..I actually had to start seeing a counselorĀ for all my racing thought and so forth and health problems sometimes it helps to tell somebody all your history and whats going on with you and they will help you realize your triggers and what to do when certain things happens..definitely have a full blood work up to ease your mind...I am going to pray for you and I know you will come out good because I can already tell that being a good mom is very important to you!! Your kids are very lucky to have you..Hope everything goes wellsmile

It's just so distressing all I want to be is my old self, I have asked for counselling I am just waiting for an appointment, I have also been put forward for group therapy for anxiety to see if that works I'm willing to try everything if it means I get an hrs break from myself!! I wondered if it was the propranolol making me feel dizzy but I'm in a catch 22 situation as I feel if I don't take them then I get the shakes, sweats and heart pulpertations and if I do then I get dizzy & headaches, I am only on a low dose of 10mg 3 times per day. I just find it so frustrating as I have a 6 month old baby and I felt fine throughout my hole pregnancy I had no anxiety at all but 2 months after he was born it all came back and 10 times worse and it's been with me ever since, somehow because of how I feel I have just convinced myself that there is something wrong with me and by the time they find it, it'll be to late which I know isn't helping my situation but no matter how hard I try I can't get out of this rut it's so scary feeling this way and trying to convince yourself your not dying or going to die 😢

Hi you sound similar to how I am, but I seem to be doing better of late. Key things are to sleep as well as you can, try meditating or a visualisation before going to bed, eat healthily and try and take some time for your self away from the little ones. i too am on Sertraline, it's been three months and it does help you cope but you still need to practice all of the above. When you feel the symptoms just tell yourself it's anxiety and relax and ignore it. Hope you improve soon

    Emma93780,

I'm not sure if you're familiar with Cranial Osteopathy of if there are providers near you that practice Cranial. But I'm a second year D.O. student here in the USA and have professors that have had great sucess treating a variety of related symptoms that others haven't been able to help. In case you're unfamiliar with cranial, it looks at how the bones in your head are moving in conjunction with each other and with VERY small adjustments trys to get them back into a state of healthy movement. It is completely non-invasive and most people who get cranial treatments are amazed at how millimeter movements of certain bones can have such profound effects. I would urge you to look into it!Ā
