Healing time for thrombosed external pile

Posted , 2 users are following.

I’ve had two very big and painful thrombosed external hemorrhoids the past two weeks. The bigger one was lanced in A&E and the pain has now gone but I am left with a lump that doesn’t seem to shrink. I’ve tried every possible thing they recommend but no difference. The pain has gone but this is affecting me massively emotionally as I am too self conscious to have sex with my new boyfriend and I worry he will leave me if these don’t go soon. I was just wondering how long can I expect to wait until these totally go away and are no longer visible? I saw a colorectal specialist who offered me a hemorrhoidectomy but he said in his opinion I should just wait for them to resolve naturally as healing time post op is 3 months. I am at my wits end! Any help appreciated

Hi. I had a huge thrombosed one lanced when I was 7 months pregnant. Unfortunately it left a huge skin tag that never went away. 7 years later and I just had a hemmroidectomy and had it and another thrombosed one removed.

It is very hard emotionally to have that down there. I might suggest low to dark light in the room if it is that special time. And avoid that area completely!!!!
