Health anxiety

I'm a 20 year old girl. I was diagnosed with a panic disorder a few months ago which quickly turned to health anxiety. Ill go weeks feeling fine and then fall into severe periods where im convinced I have a major illness. Right now its MS what triggered it was I was leaning down on my arm kind of hard and felt pins and needles (probably normal falling asleep) and now I keep feeling them all over and I feel like its gotten worse in a matter of seconds. I also always seem to get muscle twitches and random body pain that lasts seconds before traveling somewhere else whenever I've felt anxious for a period of time. But when I don't think about any of this i feel normal. Can anyone give me some advice?

When you say you go for weeks feeling fine do your symptoms happen to 're surface around your period time ?? As I am pretty similar I feel fine 2 weeks out a month but then my anxiety starts kicking in a week before my period and during !!!

Yes im actually on my period right now and it seems to go away after. I feel like this might also have to do with a new birth control im on effecting me. Last night I had a total panic attack because I couldnt remember one moment of my day and im still worried after 3 people told me its normal to not remember everything.

    Hi savannah,

I am responding to this as you seem to have mentioned a "New birth control", and that's a red flag with you're symptoms.

Is youre new birth control an implant in the arm? Or a pill?

If it is an implant in the arm, get it removed. Far easier than taking a pill I know, though so many woman are reporting horrible problems with the implant (including bad anxiety). There are a few current papers on it, that have just been published.

If you are on the pill, stop taking it and see you're doctor. You could be alergic . It's a rare possibility. But again, psychosis and anxiety are symptoms of allergy.

I am male, however my girl friend had the same symptoms as you when she was 21. (5 years ago). Turned out she had polistic ovaries. (Which no one knew, but she never had much trouble except painful periods). With the implant, it made it far worse. If they knew she had polistic ovaries she would of been advised against the pill or implant as it does cause symptoms not listed.

It will be worth creating a new post, on a different forum, about your birth control and if others have used it and what they experienced. Google the birth control you are using, and I am sure you will already find threads / topics involving reactions to the birth controls.

    Regards!

And to any other woman using a birth control, and you find youre anxiety far worse wile on your period, that is not normal.

You can have anxiety and be on you're period, and notice youre anxiety is worse, but if it gets even worse when you started using birth control, that's not good for you're life or you're body. I would really urge all of you to speak to you're doctors.

I was using the Nuvaring for 5 months and began bleeding so I took it out and ever since then I’ve had the worst anxiety that I’ve never had before. I thought I was dying. This has been since October

I've had my coil nearly 4 years so it's not a new birth control for me just the symptoms have recently appeared , I've had checks but believe it could be related to peri menopause or gastric as these are 2 things that i keep struggling with causing anxiety !
