Health anxiety all time low

Posted , 6 users are following.

So 18 months ago I was a perfectly sane woman, today i got sent home from work after bursting in to tears ☹

My health anxiety is off the chart to the point where I'm so convinced I'm going to die I have written letters to everyone and a list of instructions for my husband on how to look after our son. Surely this isn't normal.

A new pain in my breast has triggered this episode and I've poked it so much I've bruised it which just makes it hurt more.

I also have a pain in my shoulder that wont go away and the top of my arm constantly feels like its been punched.

On top of all that i seem to constantly have blood when i wipe but no period ever comes

surely this cant just be my life now

any help or advice would be much appreciated

oh Sarah sending you massive hugs. I've still got the breast pain and yes it's giving health anxiety and I got mines checked 2 years ago. I think you should go to your DR and show your breast pain just for peace of mind. I felt like you and the only way I calmed myself down was to see my GP and boy I've had so many appointments all fine. I've got a scan on Friday again already had two earlier this year for bleeding. My Dr has ordered another one as I bleed when I wipe too and after sex. It's never ending. honestly go and see your GP that's the only way you will feel better. My GP just wants everything checked but thinks it's perimenopause as I've seen the gynecologist twice and all clear apart from polyps which were causing the bleeding. DR thinks I've got them back they are usually benign.

Don't touch your breasts as you'll disturb the breast tissue even more as it's swelling apparently from hormonal levels changing. Mines burns and dull ache 2 weeks ago I was in so much pain. Please leave them alone until you see your GP.

Here if you need to reach out x

Hi, Sorry you are going through such a rough time.

I've been the same recently with awful health anxiety. No joke in the past 3 months I've had mammogram, breast ultrasound, abdomen ultrasound, head MRI, abdomen MRI, heart scan and 4 lots of blood tests. And I'm still convinced there is something seriously wrong with me. At the end of sept I was getting really bad pains in my left breast. Stabbing, aching, pulling and itchy nipple, everyday (I also bruised my breast when I kept prodding it). But since the mammogram and ultrasound it's all but gone (ultrasound showed I have scattered cysts in my breasts which is totally normal for this age apparently). I have the shoulder pain and my arm sometimes feels like its being squeezed at the top. I think it's from neck/shoulder tension. I keep getting a weird head/ear/neck pressure. The vision in my left eye keeps going blurry. My left hip aches and radiates to my back/side. And I keep getting stabbing pains in my stomach.

I'm sure it's all down to hormones but it's so hard to believe that they can cause so many different symptoms. Defo get checked out at the drs for your own peace of mind and to stop you worrying. The breast clinic I went to said to wear a sports bra all the time (even in bed), cut out caffeine and take evening primrose oil. They also said if it's really painful you can use ibuprofen gel on them.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know you're not alone and there are others going through the same thing. This perimenopause is hell. I am literally like a different person. I'm a bag of nerves all the time.

Are you taking any supplements? Magnesium is helping me. I'm also having CBT. It helps me when I have an intrusive thought to shout 'STOP' in my head and then tell myself it's not fact, it's just a thought and it doesn't mean it's true.

    Hugs to you x

totally agree with your message. I found everytime I went for scans and got the all clear my pain would stop. Anxiety and stress makes it worse.

Can I ask when you had your breast pain did it also feel like a burning sensation? when you slept and turned over I could feel my breast tissue burning! I'm wearing bralettes and it's eased the pain.

hi - yes it stopped after I had the mammogram and ultrasound. Seems crazy to me how much the brain controls these symptoms.

Why don't you get checked just to put your mind at rest so you're not worrying about it over Christmas? xx
