Health anxiety and dreans

I'm new to this group but have been experiencing severe health anxiety for the last few months. I have been diagnosed with Post Viral Fatigue following Labarynthitis, my biggest worry, currently, is that I am developing dementia due to my chronic word finding issues and memory problems. However, sleep was my only respite From constant worrying until a few weeks ago when I started to wake from dreams in a state of panic, scrabbling around to remember family members names in a half asleep/half awake state - this is following on from dreaming I can't remember their names. I also have problems when I wake early and am trying to get back to sleep I have racing thoughts in a 'semi dreamlike state' often quite illogical in format but all seem to play out my health anxiety. Often when I try to Phaethon out this thoughts once awake I struggle to remember much detail just random parts. Has anyone else experienced this? It terrifies me and seems to reinforce my belief I am developing dementia of some kind. Any info gratefully received.

Hi just wanted to try & put your mind at ease a bit. I've had those symptoms you describe, I wake up from sleep & feel confused trying to remember my sons names etc, it's really scary but be reassured it's all anxiety & caused by stress hormones not dementia

      Take care

Thanks for the response, Brendababy. It is reassuring to hear someone else has experienced something similar. I just need to learn to get a grip of my anxiety now!!
