Health Anxiety and Physical symptoms

I just want a bit of insight if anyone else has physical anxiety symptoms everyday?

This year I have suffered quite badly with health anxiety and I get daily physical anxiety symptoms but then I am panicking it could be something sinister so just wanted to know if this is normal.

All year I have had on and off acid reflux, brain fog and feeling almost off balanced, I either have no appetite or cannot stop eating, my bowels keep changing from constipation and to going to much, I get short of breath all the time! which is driving me insane and a constant ache in my upper back. 7

I have had so many tests done which have all come back clear other then I have an ovarian cyst which is benign but I am actually driving myself crazy and i would love to know if this is normal for someone with GAD or not.

Sorry for the long post thank you in advance x

    Hi Jessica.

Iv had anxiety for as long as I can remember.

As of late it's more of the health anxiety which is crippling.

I create all sorts of physical symptoms for myself including stomach upset, and chest pain.

Take reassurance in knowing all results have been clear, even though I know it's hard to still let your mind wander.

Hello, you probably wont be surprised to find that gut health and anxiety are linked closely. As someone also suffering with stomach problems and anxiety all i can recommend is seeing a doctor. none of your symptoms sound dangerous at all however it does sound like irritable bowel syndrome, which symptoms can be worsened by stress. Book an appointment with your GP and try sticking to low fat foods. Other then that you should be fine to take painkillers/anti acids. I don't see any major cause to worry about just try to stay calm.

Hey there, I've been battling bad health anxiety since I was 16, and I've always had an array of gastric symptoms. At some point I was convinced I had pancreatic, stomach or intestinal cancer, I also had the back pain you mention. I've been checked my multiple doctors, the exams came back clean, but I had gastric reflux and very mild lactose intolerance. So I was told to cut lactose from my diet entirely, reduced gluten intake to the bare minimum, and removed greasy foods from my diet. I did this religiously for about 3 months, and magic! No more acid reflux, no more constipation followed by going way too much. I even stopped worrying about those types of cancer, now I'm obsessing about other disorders, but at least my stomach feels fine x)

Now I can eat some of those things in small amounts without feeling sick.. It really helped with my anxiety levels, and I feel much better.

I have GAD and panic disorder. My physical symptoms include chest/upper back/shoulders/neck/nape/back of ears pain. I also developed sinus tachycardia because of it. My chest feels heavy and I couldn't take a deep breath. I feel tingling down my arms to my hands. I also have GI issues. It's hard to believe that anxiety can cause this much physical pain but I felt better when I started taking anti anxiety and antidepressant. Of course they're not without side effects. Right now I have extremely dry lips, I put on Blistex and Vaseline round the clock but they stay dry and cracked they hurt.
