Hello Everyone

please dont judge me as i tell you my story

I am a 26 year old female living in the uk and have had anxiety issues since childhood and I know i have health anxiety. I can tell you i have thought i have been seriously ill a few times. Recently I have had tight jaw for a few weeks and have been in hospital twice and given all clear I have had muscle twitches but no clinical weakness. MND fears have crossed my mind but I'm slowly getting over that as despite the strange feeling in my right arm but still no weakness. Got tingling as well

People say to me that at my age i should be having fun not worrying over my health as it is few and far between but i take my health seriously.

In the past I have feared breast cancer, stomach cancer, Had covid back in January feared i would get worse (one of my managers passed away from it) I know its a vicious cycle.

Thank you for taking the time to read xxx

    Hello Lauren

I also suffer from a severe health anxiety. I currently on day 8 of one of the worse anxiety spells I have ever had. Like you, I've convinced myself I have every disease imaginable, and its utterly debilitating. I'm currently suffering with a weird feeling in my head, a spasm type sensation in the centre of my chest and constant sweating and palpitations. I've been driving for 32 years and I've drove the length of the country (I'm in the UK) and now it takes everything I have to get into my car and do the 10 minute drive to work. Anxiety takes so much of ourselves away and often leaves us as a tired shell of the person we once were. You are so young and I'm so sad that you are suffering in this way. Keep talking, keep sharing your worries like we all are. We will battle them together my love.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm going to the dentist today so I'm wondering if this is the cause of the funny sensations in my arm.

My jaw just feels really tight and there is pain sometimes so maybe a dental issue.

Oddly enough, I also went to the dentist a few days ago because I had pain in my teeth and jaw. My teeth were fine but I suspect mine could be from clenching my jaw, which I do when I'm tense. I think we use all manner of muscles when we tense so maybe thats not helping things.

Went to dentist they did a dental xray and found nothing they found a wisdom tooth at the back of my jaw.

      Has anyone heard of TMJ?

i still have jaw tightness and ive noticed that my cheeks look as though ive been biting them and i have a metallic taste on the tongue

Anxiety is really taking over but its so difficult to get a doctors appointment nowadays

My arms feel tense and on friday after i did some scanning one of my hands shook 💔💔💔

Had blood test at the hospital and at the GPS but they clear Dentist xray clear so if its tmj then i can live with it but im so stressed but i cant talk to my parents because ive annoyed them about it so much

was on sertraline but that gave acid reflux and i lost sleep

      its a vicious cycle

Lost a manager to covid in February and the day he died i had cramping in my leg and sunday night i dreamt about him for the first time

What a cycle im in such a mess 💔💔💔

Hi, I am sorry you are having to go through all that. i have suffered from health anxiety since I was a kid. It got really bad in my late 20s. I was sure I was going crazy and was daily dying of something new. I felt alone and judged. I went to therapy and got really good and was anxiety free for 12 years. 12 wonderful years where headache was just a headache not a deadly symptom. Unfortunately 2 years ago it all came back not as severe as before but progressively got to the same point. Today I have pain in my eye and am absolutely convinced it is something dreadful but I feel terrified of going to a&e cause if it anxiety I will feel stupid. It is a daily struggle. Dont give up, talk to your gp about anxiety meds. I have started them over a month ago and my attacks are less severe and less frequent. Maybe it will help you get a breather and feel better.
