health anxiety (eyes)

Hello,

i've been experiencing really bad health anxiety this past month. i've seen 4 doctors and all the tests i did were fine. right now i'm experiencing pain in my eyes and i'm convinced i can hear cracking sounds coming from them sometimes and i convinced myself that my vision is getting more blurry and that i'm eventually gonna go blind. i think this is the worst symptom i've experienced yet because i'm just constantly looking at my eyes in the mirror to see if anything is wrong and i'm having a lot of trouble concentrating. i was wondering if anyone went thru something similar and if you have any tips on how to stop worrying about it or how to ease the pain?

you are most likely overthinking this. Remember, when you have health anxiety the worries and fears are not based on facts. They are based only on emotion which is fear.

Sounds like you’ve been checked out numerous times for this and everything is fine. The more you focus on it the more you are going to experience the sensations.

Are you busy enough during the day? If not, then it’s time to find some activities to keep your mind focused on other things. That’s the best thing you can do.

You’re not going to go blind. Everything‘s going to be OK. The doctors would have found anything that is wrong. Sometimes when we focus so much on something we can actually create symptoms and sounds in our own mind.

get focused on other things and your sensations will go away. Take care
