Health anxiety problems. How can I stop stressing?

Posted , 2 users are following.

I woke up today with a migraine headache and feeling nauseous, while also dealing with a cough, my mind already quickly went into I might have covid, even though I always make sure to wash my hands when I go out, wear a mask and stay distance away from other people, but my health anxiety is giving me negative thoughts making me think my sickness could be something serious. I'm normally healthy and I'm in my early 20s, I barely get sick, but when I do, I instantly start panicking. What can I do to calm myself and stay positive? I can't even eat either, because of the nausea feeling and bad headache.

remember that most illnesses are not serious. Especially when you are young and healthy. When we have anxiety the mind tends to think negative right away. ,

also, migraines can definitely make you feel nauseated.

even if you have covid you are young and healthy and have a 99.9% chance that you’ll be ok at your age. Go get a test and just find out. If it’s positive just stay home for the recommended time, stay hydrated and get rest. It is important to know so that just in case you have it you don’t spread it to anybody else.

you don’t need to panic about this. everything‘s going to be fine. take care ❤

Thank you Jan, I appreciate the kind words and detailed response. This message means so much to me, because of how true it is on how anxiety can affect you so much into making you think something could be wrong with you, when in fact it's nothing too serious and it would most likely go away when I take care of myself and not to stress about it. I feel a bit much better now to have some reassurance from someone. Hope you take care as well.
